Should I buy textbooks now?

Hi guys, I’m a transfer student so I’m not really sure how things work at Chapman.

At my last school, we’d get a list of our course materials l, but then during the first week of class the professor would clarify if we actually needed the textbooks or not, and if they were gonna provide a free pdf themselves.

So at Chapman how does it work? Should I hold off to order the textbooks listed, or should I just get them all now?

Thank you!

Can I get this working again? Keystone r8

I recently found this old **keystone r8** 8mm projector and I have no idea how it works, but I’d like to get it working again. Does anyone have any suggestions, or know of any resources where I can get started?

Above is a video of what happens when I turn it on. The speed control works, and the rewind and forward setting also works.

The one thing I know for sure I need, is a bulb. Which do I get though?

I wish I could post a video of what does happen when the projector is plugged in and switched on, but this subreddit doesn’t allow it, so I’ll just explain it by image.

  1. When switched on, a light in that little silver ball (bottom right of image) looking thing turns on. The dial that changes the speed also works.
  2. The area highlighted spins, but nothing else.
  3. This is for sure where the bulb goes, but which do I get? (It also needs to be cleaned out)
  4. This needs to be cleaned too, and I’m not sure if anything is right or wrong with it.

I know this may not be possible without a video but I appreciate any help I can get!

Edit: if anyone wants the video I took of it, let me know and I’ll pm it to you.

Hey guys, I’m an incoming transfer for film and tv production at dodge who’s gonna have to commute to school.

It saves money and I only live like 30 minutes away, but I’m worried that I’ll miss out on important opportunities to make friends and get to know people who I could work with at dodge.

Is commuting really going to hurt my time at dodge or am I just making this up in my head? 😭
