Ollie Watkins transfer: Aston Villa in talks with Saudi club Al Hilal over England striker

I’m very torn on this one. He’s 30 2 years left on his contract and at 45m it seems like ok money however I’d say we should be demanding a bit more given the circumstances.

I’m worried going into the season with all this talk and we don’t have a striker with Tammy and madjo injured. I love Ollie and he’s guaranteed each season to get us 10 goals. I understand we’re in for Jackson and with him being 25 he’s of a similar profile to Ollie and probably a decent replacement for but will he hit the ground running coming in? We will need him to if this move happens.

I think keeping Ollie and konsa with all this change going on would keep us a bit more grounded and is ideal. I do back the Jackson deal I wish it just didn’t come at the expense at losing a great servant and reliability of Ollie.

Interested to hear others thoughts.

Aston Villa see Aaron Wan-Bissaka loan offer rejected by West Ham

Are we not taking the piss here a bit? I know we are trying to penny pinch and save as much money probably to set us up for buying a quality attacker.

But feel it’s playing silly beggars going for a straight loan for AWB. First off we need a 2nd rb for next few seasons and West Ham made it quite clear they want a fee. I’d rather we just get this one done as quick as possible so we can focus on getting an attacker in.

Villa Winger Iling-Junior Signs On Loan | Bolton Wanderers FC

This guy may spend the rest of his football career on loan I feel for him slightly. I don’t think we have any sort of plans to play him ever. Even if he lights it up at Bolton I can’t see him having any future at Villa but I wish him the best of luck!

Attack really concerns me anyone else?

I know the transfer window is not closed yet I’m fully aware of that but regardless of the transfer window even if we sign players in the coming weeks which we severely need to and I hope we do, any players coming in will take another few weeks to get up to speed with everything. This post isnt to be negative it’s simply just looking at the reality of the situation and it’s concerning how the attack looks going into the season

We have Manzambi who is injured at the moment and will not play until a few games into the season by the looks of it. Garnacho again is going to take time he may miss more preseason with the face injury and still a gamble with his form. That’s our 2 players with flair who are going to take time to bed in due to injuries and lack of preseason.

Alysson dosent seem to be able to stay fit which is extremely frustrating and even at that he’s barely played for us and is unproven with 1 season in Brazil. Im excited by Madjo and Hemmings but we should be integrating them more than relying on them as direct cover, maybe Madjo is ready.

Our only experienced attackers really are Buendia Watkins Abraham and McGinn. I’m not convinced by Tammy at all and don’t think Emery is either going off last season. McGinn as our only consistent player on the right wing is alarming he’s not even a winger?

Watkins is also coming back from a long break again and will take a few games to settle in.

Bailey looks gone and Guessand needs to leave but there’s no guarantee of that I know there’s another link with palace. I do hope to god we have 2 experienced attackers coming in to fill their spots but again they will take time to adapt to Emerys system and the squad.

Am I the only one concerned of the current shape our attack is in and that we could start the season very sluggish?

Endrick

I’m seeing a couple of links to Endrick with a few other PL teams interested. With CL and development under Emery surely we are the most attractive option? I know Villa wanted a permanent aspect to a deal before but I think at this stage beggars can’t be choosers and we need to just get attackers in. And for Christ sake a right winger.

Even if it’s a season loan that could potentially be one of the signings of the season. I think my anxieties for the season would turn into pure excitement if we pull that off somehow. We are crying out for attacking quality and Endrick would certainly provide that. Please happen 🙏

Surely we sign more attacking players?

It still seems unclear whether this is villas attack now for the season. I understand Bailey and guessand need to go too but even without that I’m afraid Emerys top target was garnacho and that could be the end for major winger/attack signings.

We have to still invest in other areas of the pitch particularly full back but I think our attack at the moment still looks very weak. We genuinely need a creative midfielder and another 2 wingers/forwards. I’m aware there’s still plenty of time left I just amnt fully confident with Emerys thinking, hes the type who feels and can do a lot with very little but at the same time risking at keeping us very limited with players.

For years we’ve been crying out for just a straight up reliable attacking permanent signing. Garnacho is a gamble. I get Manzambi can play on the wing but he looks to be much better centrally. I understand the links will come I just pray to god the club understand we need an overhaul in attack and not trying to save pennys.
