Trunk is back in business!

Locked myself out of the trunk a while back. Got to pulling the lock cilinder. Then drilled through the press in part of the lock.. broke a damn bit inside before getting through.

All in all happy with the replacement parts. Got the lock to seat good and the retaining clip to sit perfectly.

Eventhough there is an 80 Liter LPG tank in there it's still an impressive trunk.

Got me a Citroën DS from 1974. Runs and floats fine but visually leaves something to desire. So we are working on making her look better again. Obligatory 2 tone airhorn..

Did remove most of the stickers. Body needs work. As to be seen in the French DS puzzle I found in the driver side door..

Interior wise it was.. well not good. So today we finished the upholstery. Also changed the plastic mount for the gauge cluster. Keeping the original clocks! Have to say the upholstery is superb quality. Way thicker than the old stuff that was on it.

Had a nice sunny day today so we went outside and got the rear seat done. It's.. well the bottom half took 30 minutes.. the back not so much..

It's not just the outside that is getting some love. It's also the inside. New covers front and back. New plastic for the gauges. Kept the original clocks of course! Backseat still needs to be done.

So like all old cars she's prone to rust. So we got the wheels off and cleaned. Painting them with some Rust-Oleum. Captain side wheels were worse than the drinker side. Rust was coming from my nose for hours..

The rear panels come off easily. Just the one bolt in the rear and an open door are enough to lift them off. Insides looked good.

Also covered up some rust to preserve the metal a bit. Hoping to get it resprayed at some point though I know it's also going to be costly due to some repairs..
