Coros Pace 3 logging miles as Km
Hey all, had the pace 3 for 1.5 year now and have loved it. Changed my life by really motivating me to train and stay fit and healthy.
I've noticed something weird happen my last two runs. The first one, the pace was at more than 6 min per km. Usually that's down at 4 and a half on similar runs, but I figured I was just having a bad day. It uploaded to Strava and said the same thing. As I thought it just uploaded GPS and time data I figured Strava would tell me if something was wrong by giving me different stats. So I figured I'd try again soon.
My next run I did on the same spot as a park run so was expecting over 5 km. ( I mapped my run latter and found it was about 6.7 km). I was worried about getting in my head during the run so was running as fast as I could and tried not to look at the watch. I finally looked and was devastated. 6 and 1/2 minutes pace again. The distance also looked like it was only 4.5 km by the end.
After some investigation, it looks like both coros, and then Strava when it gets the data from the coros app, are reporting US miles as KM. Thus, it's taking me more than 6 min per mile, but it's reporting it as 6 min per km. Similar it's underestimated distance of my runs.
I'm in a metric country so have always had metric set on the watch and phone. Similarly, I've just been doing regular run activities, not running on a training plan or workouts downloaded off the internet. Recently I got a training belt so I have been running with my phone and listening to music on wireless earphones. Not sure if the Bluetooth may have affected it as they are also connected to the watch.
Anyway, I'm hoping someone has a fix for this or perhaps I'm not the only one experiencing it. I'm going for a long run tomorrow and leaving my phone/earphones at home so I'll report back if it's fixed. I think my watch had an update yesterday, so that also may help.
