Lost my favorite chicken this evening, came out to check their waters before the storm and immediately knew something was wrong when she didn’t run out to greet me. Found her in the nest box and have intermittently been sobbing and looking at photos for the last few hours.

She gave me so much joy, always would jump in my lap and fall asleep on my arms. She would sometimes purr when I was holding her. I know I gave her a good life, but it’s so hard to think of her suffering at the end. She was such a good girl and I’m so lucky I had her.

Cold soba noodle bowl with a jammy egg, cucumbers and edamame. Topped with rice vinegar, Fly By Jing, soy sauce and a little sesame oil on the noodles.

Tin Review: really lovely, tastes appropriately fishy (very mild) with a really nice tender texture. Got it for half off so $7. Definitely worth a splurge and a good amount of fish in the tin which I did not photograph because I’m a hungry little demon!
