Q Mini Fix alternative stocks question

Hey all, looking for some experienced user input here.

Id like to put a smaller, lighter stock on my Mini-Fix.

Im looking at the JMAC, A3T and similar options, even the spare from my Sig Cross Trax is a possibility. I'm concerned first about clearance for the "Bolt" and second about hinge compatibility.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Shouldn't be this hard!!! .300blk PISTOL w/ full MLOK rail ...?

So ---- apparently ---- If I want a BOLT ACTION PISTOL in .300blk, with a full MLOK handguard, my ONLY OPTION is to pay near THREE GRAND for a Q Mini Fix? There is not one single other option available anywhere. Nothing.

Remington introduced, and then almost immediately discontinued the 700CP in 2021, and there is not a single extant example available anywhere in North America. Couldn't find any evidence of one having sold new or used on GUNBROKER. It's as if it's been wiped off the face of the earth by the hand of God.

Sure it probably wasn't a GREAT gun but at least I could upgrade it with better parts and end up with something AT LEAST as good or probably better than a Mini-Fix for likely a thousand dollars less.

IS THERE TRULY NO OTHER OPTION?

***>>***If you're about to drop some post asking WHY I would want a Bolt Pistol, or why it needs to have a full MLOK rail .... DONT BE STUPID. The answer is .... I'm an American with money in my pocket. I want what I want and that's it! <<

What will almost certainly turn out to be a STUPID QUESTION about the Ruger MINI-14

Since there is apparently no commercially available pistol brace compatible with the Ruger MINI-14 .300BLK, if one wanted to have their local combination FFL/Machine Shop chop the barrel down to 12", and then simply remove & dispose of the stock, could it then legally be transferred as a PISTOL?

What will almost certainly turn out to be a STUPID QUESTION about OPTICS on 8.6BLK platforms

OK so I'm looking at doing my first 8.6BLK build. Most likely a bolt-gun. Looking around and watching all the stooptubers and all that crap, there is one question I've been unable to really find a satisfactory answer to;

If I'm reading everything right .... the 8.6BLK (subsonic):

  • Groups for shit at almost any distance, no matter the barrel quality or length
  • Drops like a stone past 150-200yds in ANY barrel length
  • Is the subject of humor videos about people running out of elevation on their magnified optics at distances many people still feel perfectly comfortable running just a red dot ...

SOOOOO ....... why is nearly every 8.6BLK build I see wearing a 1-8X, 1-10X, or even 3-18X or higher MAGNIFIED PRECISION SCOPE on top of it??

*this is Reddit, so at least 75% of any answers I get here are likely to be some variety of "that's stupid, and you're stupid for asking RAAAAAGGGEEE!!!" and that's fine, that's what makes Reddit what it is, but my thanks in advance to anyone who can help me understand this.

What will probably turn out to be a STUPID QUESTION about DIRECT-THREADING suppressors

Hey there Reddit. Here's one for yaz;

So, say I have a rifle that will be run suppressed 100% of the time. The suppressor in question was chosen with that particular rifle's load, barrel length & gas system in mind. I will likely never need to travel with the rifle in any way that requires it to be stored compactly.

SO - direct thread, right?

But here's the question: Is there such a thing as a direct-thread HUB adaptor which ALSO has some sort of sacrificial baffle, or really ANY internal geometry which will direct proximal flow towards the distal vents in the blast chamber, thus making best use of the suppressor's "Hybrid Bypass" design and, hopefully, sparing the blast baffle a little bit, instead of just the plain uncrowned muzzle blasting straight into the chamber?

OK ... so I'm looking at my first Q; the FIX or MINI FIX .... school me

Hey all.

So I've been looking into this, and here's what I need to know; (my thanks in advance for experience-based, helpful answers, and a polite hat tip to the inevitable self-hating foot-pervert losers who will inevitably show up here just to tell me how stupid I am, how stupid my questions are, and how wrong I am, as a person .... YOU are what makes Reddit what it is, and I salute you)

The whole idea is to have something I can change calibers on relatively quickly. Since more affordable options like the SIG CROSS do not offer the 8.6BLK, I think Q is gonna be my only choice.

IDEALLY, I would be able to switch from .308 to 8.6BLK with just the barrel change. I would keep the shorter handguard. If this is as simple as it looks, I think the FIX is the answer.

Any thoughts?

Okay you experts - recommend me a TRIPOD under $350

This'll be my first tripod. I practice on my own land, but the pasture areas where I can get a full 300-400 yard LOS start to have very tall growth now thru October.

Looking for Arca or something that can easily be adapted to 1913 QD. Don't care about looks, dont care about color, or really even material and weight. I want something tough, compact when collapsed, able to be deployed and stowed quickly, and appropriate for 14.5" and 16" MSRs

What do you recommend?

NGAL + SCOUT LIGHT USERS: I need Mounting advice

We're talking about an LMT MRP CQB MLOK upper, which is smaller in diameter than many other rails, with an NGAL at 12 O'Clock at the very front of the rail, and a MODLITE 3V (shorty) light body. All of the "OFFSET" type mounts at the 2 O'Clock position wont tuck the light body up tight under the NGAL like I want, the body always knocks up against the NGAL, and it seems an "INLINE" type sticking straight out from the 3 O'Clock position. Which I hate.

Haley Strategic makes some funky offset mounts. Anybody else like me and got more autism than good sense and wasting time with this silly aesthetic bullshit instead of training?

Question about RIDGEBACK RHODIE 6K

Website says "6-8 week lead time"

But it said that the day they announced it.

Are they shipping these out immediately now, or is there actually a 6-8 week lead time between payment and shipping?
