First .300 build

This is my first go at building out a stripped lower and I really love the way it turned out. Plinks 100 yards no problem, really smooth and enjoyable to shoot. Looking for trigger recommendations

Yes I am aware it's all black and yes I like it that way

9" Complete Radian Upper
BRO Lower
Mil-Spec lower kit (looking into some add ons)
Braided Buffer Spring
SB Brace
Holosun Green dot + 3x Magnifier combo
Griffin Armament Explorr .300 Suppressor (not installed yet)

300 blk energy vs veloc

what are you folks finding is the best compromise bullet weight for 300 supers? am loading 130g HP over 19.3g of A1680 now, but hoping to move up to a heavier bullet without too much drop.

What buffer/spring is everyone running w/ their 6" Faxon?

I have an ancient YHM .30 Phantom suppressor just sitting in my safe. I decided I needed something to do w/ it, so I ordered a Faxon 6" 1:5 Gunner barrel and a Midwest 12.625" rail to tuck it under. While I wait on everything to get delivered (hopefully tomorrow), I was trying to research the best way to tune it. Understanding that ammo plays a part in how it will run, and I will be running it almost exclusively w/ subs, I was hoping I could pulse the community of people that currently have this sort of set up to see what buffer weight and spring you all are running? I won't be running an AGB, so the buffer & spring will be the main way I can make sure this thing will run reliably and lock back. I also plan on using a forward assist vent from Weapon Outfitters as well as a Raptor SD for the CH as the Phantom is an old school gassy little bitch. Any advice or suggestions would be welcome. TIA.

New 10.5" Upper Receiver

So I stripped a gas block set screw on an upper that I wanted to put a new MI T-Series Quad Rail on. Everyone was super helpful and provided great advice in my previous post. I ended up leaving the upper that a stripped the set screw alone and I built a brand new one instead. It's a 10.5" 5.56 upper with a 9.5" MI Quad Rail (T-Series) so it's a free float handguard. I had the upper assembled within 20 minutes and I think it came out pretty good. I took it to the range yesterday on my lunch break and it's pretty accurate for a 10.5". I admit it's not the most expensive or high end upper that I've built but it performed well regardless. Just wanted to share the outcome and thank everyone again. Happy Friday and enjoy!

Good ~5" 300BLK CAN ?

OK, won't go into too much detail of the build I am working on...suffice to say I want to get ~5" length CAN for 300BLK. This can be 9mm rated to 300BLK but since I can handle bit wider dimension.....meaning 1.75" vs 1.3x" OD.....I would prefer 30 cal/300BLK specific. I do have Q Blind Tiger and plan to move THAT to my 30cal bolt. I want to go light (less than 12.5oz I have now) so titanium OK. So far I see probable fit with the Anthem-K2 .30 Caliber Rifle Silencer, others ?

Note, barrel is currently Plan B Muzzle......

Works/Fits well on Q CAN.

TY !

Barrel Question - Geissele Phased Array 8” or Criterion CORE 8.5”?

I was looking to swap one of my 556 uppers over to a 300 blackout and I am now stuck between these two barrels. Criterion was my first choice, but then I ran across the Phased Array system. I have found very little information on the Geissele system.

Have any of y’all have tried this barrel before? Thoughts on it compared to the Criterion?

Thinking of finally spending the money to get one of my dream guns…. BUT what trigger would you purchase if you got the suppressed variant. The standard or the GEISSELE SSA-E?

Carbon ring and phantom defense ammo getting dirtier?

TLDR, basically the title, phantom defense subs seem to be getting dirtier and now I have a carbon ring starting to form?

Took my rifle out this morning and shot a mix of 200gr and 220gr phantom defense subs. Had this gun set up with an H2 and carbine spring and hadn't had any issues with this setup until today.

Today started with the 200gr as I had 2 bags left and just recieved 800 220gr subs as those seemed to run better for me in the past. First mag no hold open. Tried 220s and seemed fine, okay maybe it's the 200gr. Shot some more 200gr and held open some and others didn't. From there started having a bunch of failure to feeds and had to mortar it to get a stuck round out.

Swapped back to 220s and cycled fine but had some issues holding open on a few mags. Groups seemed to be opening up and called it a day. I'm no precision shooter, but was worried of a potential baffle strike. Cap and baffles looked good I just suck lol.

Got home and started to clean it. It's the dirtiest this gun has gotten and only in about 100 rounds this morning. Explains the jams and issues I was experiencing. Looked down the barrel and saw a ring building up at the chamber just before the rifling. From what I have read this can lead to poor cycling, accuracy, and more. Bore snake didn't seem to make a dent in this so time to get a cleaning rod and go at it.

Just wanted to see if others have noticed this with the phantom subs recently? While frustrating at least I know my rifle needs some adjustment to ensure reliable cycling (trying an H1 buffer next time).

Also what diameter cleaning rod are you all using? I am only seeing 6mm options. I have a 5mm for my 556 and 22s but want to get the proper size for this.

Blind Tiger, Anthem S2, or Scythe STM

So I’ve brought it down between these 3. It’ll be primarily for a 300blk out build with an AGB and sometimes a .308 bolt gun. My LGS has the Blind Tiger in stock so I’m leaning towards it, but not 100% yet. Any thoughts on which to go with?

1:5 VS 1:7 Twist for Subs Only Gun

This lil PSA .300 B/O is about to get some upgrades. I have a Dead Air Nomad L and Q Trash Panda on the way. I'm not sure what one will live on this gun but either way I'm going to need a new barrel / handguard or both. (Don't judge my suppressor choices. I had to take what's in stock considering what's going on and having a local FFL that will do a Form 4473 for them.)

I reload so I don't mind having this be a sun-sonic only gun. Is a 1:5 twist the way to go? I'm just getting worried about baffle strikes. With a 1:5 twist is shooting a 125gr supersonic an absolute no-no or is google making me trip out for nothing? I have tons of Speer TnT 125gr supers loaded up because pre suppressor that's what this gun lives on. Again, I'm cool with not shooting those after the suppressor I just want to know.

I have a bunch of Berry's 220gr to load up when I get my suppressors. Berry's says max FPS with 1:5 is 1000 fps while 1:7 is 1300 fps. This kind of worries me too...

I'm the type of person who will research a toothbrush for 2 hours. Talk sense into me please.

Finally put some rounds through the mixtape and it ran amazing with subs. Shot about 300 rounds, zero malfunctions and very quiet with LPM Anthem S2
