Best plinking ammo

I know this question probably gets beaten to death. I did some searching and it seems that, at some point, Phantom Defense remans were well-regarded for general use training/range ammo. Is this still the sweet spot? Is anybody using anything else that they really like?

Backlit keyboard upgrade: is buying fromLenovo worth 3-4x cost of Amazon version?

Hey all, first post here! I bought a refurbed T14 Gen1 on Amazon and a few of the specs were misrepresented (screen resolution and keyboard not backlit). But I need it now/don't have time to return it, so I'm going to try some upgrades as I use it.

I'm looking for a backlit keyboard upgrade. Seems you can get compatible backlit keyboards on Amazon for $26ish, but Lenovo wants $80-$110 for their backlit keyboards.

Is the "authentic" Lenovo one worth 3-4x the Amazon one? Is the Lenovo model even different from the Amazon model, or are they just marking up the exact same hardware?

[SNA411P1] Jubilee-style bracelet/modification options with compatible endlinks?

I finally snagged one of my dream watches, a Seiko Flightmaster (still in transit otw to me), and my plan was to go find a bracelet for it in what I thought was a really common "Jubilee" style. But now that I've bought the watch and am looking hard, this is proving more difficult than I thought. Uncle Straps has Oyster-style and President-style bracelets with SNA411P1-compatible endlinks, but not a Jubilee-style. Also, apparently the endlinks for this watch are kind of finnicky.

So here's my question: if I keep searching and it turns out no one sells what I'm looking for, could I buy a bracelet that has the correct endlinks (i.e. an Uncle Straps "Lincoln" \[President-style\] or similar), then buy a Jubilee-style bracelet with straight ends and "transplant" the correct endlinks from a non-Jubilee-style bracelet onto the straight-end watch? Is that a thing?

Sapphire crystal tolerances?

I have a Tandorio titanium turtle case that I LOVE, which is currently housing a lot of OEM Seiko components. The case came with a crystal that has a blue AR coating that I don't like. The Tandorio crystal is much thinner than than a Namoki I had lying around, which is designed to fit into factory SKX007 cases.

So I pulled out some calipers. The Tandorio crystal is 2.54mm thick, and 31.34mm in diameter. Of note, the crystal gasket that the Tandorio case came with is also a bit thicker than Seiko-spec'd Namoki gaskets I have lying around.

I looked on Esslinger and you can order uncoated sapphire crystals in 0.5mm increments. My question: if I order a 31.5/2.5mm sapphire to replace the one above, can I expect standard SXK007 crystal gaskets to fit it, or am I looking at some sort of custom gasket to make it fit?

Or maybe a better question: how much "slop" is there in Seiko crystal specs? Has anyone collected data on crystal median diameters and min/max variances observed?

Good sources for AR-coated sapphire crystals where you can order by diameter and thickness?

Hey all, I'm working on a build and I need a 2.5mm thick sapphire that's 31.5mm in diameter. My Google is failing me, and I can't seem to find any source that lets you specify diameter and thickness *and* offers AR coating. So two questions:

  1. Is there a source you guys know of that I don't?
  2. How big a project is it to order uncoated sapphire and apply AR coating yourself (and where do you source the AR coating, if this is even feasible)? It's my understanding that this is something optical labs do, but I'm not seeing any homebrew solutions.

Effect is even more pronounced irl. Both lumed discs (day and date) came from Namoki. Is this normal, or did I get a dud?

I bought a Tandorio brand FXD-style titanium watch case for an NH-36 build and I really want to add a lumed chapter ring. I *think* this is the same OEM that makes the Tactical Frog Pelagos FXD homages. I disassembled my case and punched out the chapter ring. I was expecting it to be flat on the bottom and glued in place like most of the other Ali titanium cases I've bought. However, it seems to have a proprietary "2-nub" indexing system (12 and 6 o'clock nubs, reminiscent of the factory SKX007 but further inward on the mounting surface of the ring)

Tl;dr, has anyone successfully modded one of these FXD cases with a luminous chapter ring? And if yes, could you tell me how you did it (or which chapter ring you bought, if you found one that worked out of the box)?
