I made a free Mac app to view, trim, and export Tesla dashcam footage

It's hard to manage Sentry video on MacBook, so I built a simple, reliable Tesla dashcam viewer app.

Install it, plug in your Tesla USB drive, and start watching.

  • Six cameras, one synced timeline
  • Single, multi-camera, and spatial views
  • Easily export video files to save or share
  • Up to 8× playback to find the moment faster
  • Trim all six cameras together. Keep just the part you want.
  • Adjust brightness and contrast for a closer look

Works with driving footage and Sentry events. Native Mac UI. No account. No uploads. Your videos stay local.

Completely free and open source. Give it a try 👋

A CLI where every failure class gets its own exit code, because the caller is an LLM

Design notes from a helpdesk CLI I wrote for agent runtimes. Three decisions I'd repeat:

One JSON envelope, always. {ok:true, data} to stdout or {ok:false, error:{type, message, hint, detail}} to stderr. Exactly one object per invocation. Callers branch on ok, never parse prose.

Eleven exit codes, not two. Not-found, forbidden, rate-limited, incomplete-collection and transport failure are five different things and none of them is "no results." Collapsing them is the single most common way a helpdesk automation goes wrong silently.

Reads retry, writes never. Reads retry on 429 and transient 5xx honoring Retry-After. The one POST that a customer will read is issued once with a 30s timeout and never retried — its outcome is confirmed, failed, or unknown, and those three are never collapsed into each other.

Bonus, since it was the hardest part: Freshdesk's search API caps at 300 results and will happily hand you a truncated page. The scan command refuses the truncated answer, partitions by queue × status, then bisects by creation date until every leaf fits, and finally reconciles distinct ids against the server's declared total. Mismatch means the command fails rather than reporting a set it can't prove is whole.
