Genuine questions involving Whole Lotta Red

I’m aware how loved by the community released Whole Lotta Red is, but I’m also seeing a good amount of people still disappointed that there wasn’t that many older WLR tracks in release/ still complaining we didn’t get the older version of WLR,

  1. Do y’all like release Whole Lotta Red?
  2. Knowing how much influence Whole Lotta Red has towards Rage, would you still rather have early WLR?
  3. Let’s assume if it never gotten influence & the reception stayed the same since release, do you think y’all would’ve liked the album now?

This kinda mirrors with MUSIC reception

I truly think XPERIMENT will be Ken’s version of MUSIC

More in terms of how it’s going more into the multi-sound direction instead of the one specific sound like how More Chaos was

I think that itself would be the experimental part of the album

Sonic Colors sample on demigod intro crazy 🔥

Funny enough I was actually thinking of making a mashup just yesterday since both Reach For The Stars & Demigod both shares the same key

I’m counting Swamp saying “BABYBOI otw” as a mention

Babyboi still isn’t scrapped

On one hand, it’s great to finally listen to the updated version of the less developed tracks you heard months ago + it’ll be your first time hearing the completely new unheard tracks, but then after the LP is finished & you realize the album still isn’t on dsps then your excitement kinda lowers significantly because now you’re at this point of “now I heard the album”

Though having the same-day LPs eliminates this

Obviously other then a couple wanted tracks being on the album, I feel like people would still complain about it because it would be more of a “unheard album” then a “grail” tape

We underestimate how much bbpb/vultures tracks have been made between 2023-maybe early 2025

But then also If that grail did drop, the same people who kept on asking for that song for months to year would just play it for maybe a week then randomly stop like they did with Promotion

I’ve seen people talk about how North is going more towards the “underground sound” then the chipmunk soul sound, but the progression in sound actually makes sense

If we look at the artists Ye was inspired by, it was mid-late 80s - 90s artists so Ye curated his sound from that

The artists who got big in the early 2010s- late 2010s were inspired by artists who gotten really popular in the 2000s-really early 2010s (eg. Lil Wayne, Ye, Drake,)

Right now, we’re starting to see the Carti influence into the newer artists (2021 forward) with their distorted & melodic sound takes on rage

We could even see some hyperpop/edm elements in current rage

With the newer artists right now, Carti is the equivalent to a Ye or a Lil Wayne to a 2010s artist (which we’ll see a lot more now)

This is one is the reasons why you see a lot more upcoming rage artists then upcoming non rage artists

The people saying “Babyboi isn’t going to get hype unless he goes mysterious again” are completely underestimating how small something can lead to fans here thinking that Babyboi is dropping on a date/soon

Just look how fast people got excited & saying how Babyboi is going to drop soon just from that Ak x Carti text

Another example is that fake email when people believed that it was dropping on the 12th & even started hyping it up not knowing it was unofficial

Why don’t we get more alt tracklists of released albums?

We know they have them

I feel like that would answer a lot of questions about the era
