Caught my first trout(s)!
This weekend I was in Eastern Cape Breton with my father-in-law, helping him with landscaping, clearing, and prep to build a new garage/shed. We would work the mornings till 2/3pm, and then he would take me out fishing as a thank-you for the help.
I had forgotten how nice it can be to fish with people, as I typically go solo. We caught our limit on the second day, and the whole experience was wholesome and educational. There were many man-to-man talks, and he taught me about fishing and life. Which I didn’t get growing up, so it was a touching moment. He definitely cleaned house and caught the nicest and biggest trout in the photo, but I’m just happy I caught one!
As a catch-and-release guy, I was caught off guard by dispatching the fish, so I let my FIL do it so I didn’t make them suffer, but I was happy to learn and help dress them.
I don’t know if the sappy content is fitting for the sub or for you all, but I was hoping you'd get the sentimental side.
