354 dollars to TALK
Obviously medical and even more obviously in the US.
Insurance is frustrating enough but when I see my doctor's office code a visit as "Established Patient Office with Moderate Level of Decision" and charge $354 dollars...
The entire visit was less than 30 minutes and it was discussing something the doctor had already suggested we do. What decision? What was difficult?
The entire healthcare system feels designed to kill people who can't pay.
This visit also included a blood test (the horror).
Total visit: $806
Insurance did (for once) pay for $600 dollars of it, but I still can't fathom how a 20 minute conversation on topics already discussed was worth $354...
