I have a simple setup using a Fender Champion 40, a Boss NS-2, a Boss DS-1 Waza, and a footswitch.

I try using the footswitch to clean the channel on my amp, but then I have to press both the DS1 and the footswitch at the same time to have a smooth transition. It's inconvenient and ruins the song, but I could swear I see people doing it easier.
