Volume reduction advice?

1st pic is right after styling, 2nd pic is later in the day. Let me preface this by saying there is NOTHING wrong with awesome volume!! Personally, it just gives me sensory overload and I get so overstimulated with my hair everywhere. I really wish I could were it down without it expanding 5x within 3 hours of doing it😭 Any tips for me? I mean I’ve tried so many things so I guess I just need to accept that my hair will always be like this, but it would be amazing if there was something I could try I haven’t thought of yet.

Hip problems but not necrosis?

Hey y’all! Any advice? - I know Sickle Cell SC puts people at risk for hip issues and bone necrosis.

I have had shoulder multi-directional instability and chronic shoulder pain and function issues for 6 years that resulted in a capsular shift surgery this year. My shoulder issue was lax tissue, not bone decay or anything.

Ever since doing something bothersome at the gym last January, my hip has been hurting quite a bit. I haven‘t been diagnosed, but I already know I have major hip instability. My intuition is telling me that my hip problems, like my shoulder problems, have more to do with loose tissue and not bone decay. I mean obviously I don’t know that for sure, but the symptom overlap is almost identical.

I’m not sure it’s even beneficial to seek hip help right now because I’m out of yearly PT visits, so I might just wait until next year. On the other hand, this hip pain is getting super annoying.

From a SC perspective, am I being unwise to put it off until next year? The pain is annoying but manageable, and I’m only 4 months out from a brutal shoulder surgery. I’m not crazy motivated to jump into chasing another diagnosis, but I want to be wise and careful when I need to. Thanks so much!

Advice? Newbie to hip issues…

Hello!!! Wondering if anyone has any advice? Long story short: Last January, I was going to the gym and taking a group class. My hip started bothering me after a certain class (I don’t remember what exercises we were doing) and it’s hurt on and off since then. Between then and now, I‘ve self-diagnosed major hip instability because I learned I had major shoulder instability and realized the symptoms line up for hip instability too.

I’ve had serious shoulder issues for 6 years, and I had a capsular shift surgery on my shoulder 4 months ago. I didn’t want to pursue answers for my hip issues because the surgery recovery took precedence and the hip pain was manageable. But the pain is getting worse and things like walking even for short distances are so unenjoyable.

To make things even more interesting, I have Sickle Cell SC Disease which puts me at risk for other hip issues.

But here’s the problem - I’m about to use up all my yearly insurance-covered PT visits with the shoulder stuff. I don’t make a lot of money, so paying for PT out of pocket would be difficult. I’m wondering if there’s even any point to getting my hip checked out if I’m going to have to wait til next year to get back into PT. I’m torn because paying out of pocket for PT sounds awful but another 6 months of this isn’t that encouraging either. I can tolerate the pain though because I’ve dealt with chronic pain for as long as I can remember so I’m torn. (and I suspect my labrum is torn but I could be wrong😅)
