Im humbly asking for prayers for my baby brother. He is need of a liver transplant, but currently hospitalized with severe illness. Hes weak and needs his strength so we can get him on a list. Just trying to find some support. My little brother age 42 is currently hospitalized. 1.5 week ago, he had a really bad bleed and lost ALOT of blood. They went in and did 12 bands and were able to stabilize him. Hes currently on propranolol, xfaxin, Lasix and a gamet of vitamins. He has minimal acites, but some lower feet swelling. His bilirubin is up, but ammonia has come down. He is 1 month sober currently. His current MELD is 28. The team came in and said transplant is only option but they don't think he will survive till then. (He did have a bleed and band 5 years ago and his MELD was 39. By a miracle he came back from that and was compensated and doing well and sober. Now here we are again. After a very tragic event he went back to drinking and got really sick really fast. The doctors have him stable but he is just so weak. The weakness and low bp abd potassium seem to be an issue. He also isnt eating barely anything They are moving him to physical rehab next week. We are so lost. Terrified. I hate alcohol so much. Can someone help me and my family manage our expectations?
I know Only a medical provider can diagnose but I would like some opinions. Last week we had a family celebration. I ate 8 piece wing stop (Chipotle and garlic parm) fries, their ranch . I went to bed about an hour after eating. I woke up around 10 in the morning with light heartburn. But then I had this gnarly squeezing, stretching pain in the center of my chest between my breasts. LOTS OF belching. I freaked out. It came and went. I tried having some oatmeal and when I swallowed that pain came back. I had the swallowing pain for 2 days. Since then (a week) I have uncontrollable burping, gas and upper back pain. I am taking omeprolze, digestive enzymes and a probiotic now. I am 48, female and obese. Currently on Trizepetide for weight loss (down 110lbs, but still severely overweight) I didn't go to emergency room for insurance financial reasons. What are the chances this was cardiac? Did i have a heart attack? I have NEVER had that pain in my chest ever. I am scared stupid. Cant eat, cant sleep, can't focus. I think any moment im on a one way ride outta here. My family thinks I'm dramatic, but im legit scared.Can anyone give any insight? Thank you.
