Has anyone else found the Sturmreise model to actually be very easy to build?

Has anyone else found the Sturmreise model to actually be very easy to build?

Hi all, I'm working on a Sturmreise and it's... surprisingly easy to build. I had prepared myself for a big project, like a 40k titan, and it just isn't!
There's one picture on the sale page that shows the layout of each of the legs, and then the bigger pictures show all the other parts, and their positions.

I had wanted to mix fdm and sla printing more evenly, but I ended up with almost all of it in resin. I then glued it together with a cheap 2 part epoxy (the stuff that says 5minutes) and most of the time was waiting for the epoxy to cure as it was old and taking way longer than 5 minutes.

The model pieces are designed with plenty of clearance, so the tolerance between 3d printers is going to be easily accomidated for, I never had to sand or drill or cut anything to make anything fit, but I did choose to re-pose a couple of legs, and did some minor cutting for that.

Brainstorming uses for normal infantry.

Hi all, I've been considering scripting a video on the subject of using 'mundane' infantry in K47, either the included rifle squad in the K47 lists, or importing various squads from BA. Many others have pointed out the obvious, they are extremely fragile, with 5+vet being the best they can ever get. So if they come across a K47 unit directly, 1v1, they would loose, but that's not to say they don't have uses. So I got to thinking what those uses were, and what the benefits would be.

1 board saturation. Being able to spend 35points on a unit that can take an objective, means you can throw one towards every objective on the board and your opponent needs to deal with them. They are each easy to deal with, but that takes a k47 unit out of fighting your main force.

2 weapon delivery. various options including flamethrowers, disposable launchers and light mortars(Japanese) can be fielded for much cheaper than in a k47 squad. Again their fragility sort of makes them a one shot weapon.

3 memes/fun/historical/thematic, it's always valid to bring a silly list, or to represent some alternate history whilst storytelling.

Discussing the ways to use officers.

I did a video about how to use officers in BA and now I'm playing Konflikt I noticed some similarities and some differences.

Barebones is still possible, but now a cheap-ish build can also be useful. Save points and just do one specific thing.

Plinker or LD officers with a few upgrades can fit in with other squads and do officer things, but theres still different wqys to do that.

Fire support or assault officers are the same as Plinker or LD but dialed up, moch better kit so they are dangerous in their own right, with a few friendly squads nearby for a focussed battleplan.

I've seen a couple of modellers have trouble with this kit, and one even saying they threw the model in the bin halfway through building it. I was surprised, as I couldn't believe that a modern kit would have such a major flaw that makes it unbuildable. In fact I spend a lot of my time teaching the old school techniques so that modellers can build any kit even if it has a difficult element, when you've built a 1970's gundam kit, or a 1960's airfix kit, there's nothing that a modern kit that can possibly make it 'unbuildable'

However, this kit actually does have a single flaw, that will prevent it from being built correctly if you don't know that it's coming. And so I featured this kit in the above video to highlight what the issue is, and how to fix it.

The issue is the top piece of the hull, which has 3 main panels; front, top and rear, they should have sharp angles between those three panels, but each panel should be straight. when I started looking at this part, it was quite evident that the top panel of this piece is warped. This curve is around the area of the turret ring, making the turret not quite fit correctly, but it also means the front and back of the hull are bent upwards just enough to make it difficult to hold in place whilst the glue sets.

From my experience, the solution was fairly obvious, but it's something that a lot of modellers might not even think about; I grabbed my hair drier. I warmed the part up so that the internal stresses in the plastic released, this means I can gently flex the top panel back to being straight, as it should be, and by holding it straight as it cooled, it maintained nearly the correct shape. After it was cooled it wasn't perfect, but it was well within tolerance to be glued to the hull sides, which would hold the part in the correct shape.

I'm building the plastic Katyusha and after building it with the driver and two standing crew, theres one additional driver model with a different uniform. It is marked red in the instructions. I'm guessing either a civilian or American??

Thanks
