I've picked up a SAK and it must be before they started putting the pin/needle holes on them as stock.
Does anyone know the best way to make a hole without making a mess?
Hot needle vs drill?

I have got the compact and just got the fireant.
The compact doesn't have a Saw or an Awl, nothing seems to work to strike the rod. Now and then I get a little stark from using the parcel hook/nail file, but small and inconsistent.
Has anyone got any other suggestions?
Weary the knife blade or scissor blade could work, but that will damage it.
I was really hoping my compact would be the ultimate SAK for me.
