Seeking constructive feedback

I don’t really know what I’m doing and am trying to learn mostly through trial and error.

I would appreciate constructive and kind feedback on what else to do with this particular painting, as well as thoughts on what to do differently in the future.

Thank you!

How should I assemble these earrings?

I made these “cabochons” and I’d like to assemble them into drop earrings as shown. The resin pieces do not have holes in them, but I can drill holes as needed.

What is the best way to accomplish this? I’ve considered gluing fishing wire to the backs or putting jump rings in the tops and bottoms. I’m afraid to drill vertical holes to put them on an eye pin, as I’ve tried that before and it didn’t go well.

Suggestions, please?

Why is everything coming out sticky?

I’ve been pouring resin for maybe six months and haven’t had this problem before. a couple days ago, I made a batch of doodads and they all came out sticky.

I checked and realized I had somehow gotten my proportions wrong, so I mixed up a small amount of (correctly made) clear resin and coated the items with it, thinking the new layer would be smooth like it’s supposed to be. But they are still sticky!

What am I doing wrong, and can they be saved?

How can I avoid this variation?

I’m using a dip pen for the first time. I feel like the pen doesn’t hold enough ink to make more than one letter at a time and so some letters are dark and others are light. What am I doing wrong And how do I fix it?

The dip pen and ink are both Speedball and this is written on Strathmore paper. The style is from a book I used to own thirty years ago and don’t remember much of the details.
