TV mounting & in wall cable concealment cost?
Hi all, I’m looking to gut check a pricing estimate for professional tv mounting and in wall cable concealment for my home in SF proper (94123). This is for 2 TVs and 1 Sonos soundbar.
The tech has come twice to complete the job and will be coming back a third and hopefully final time to finish. The price has changed each time. I’m now suspicious that they’re taking advantage of my inexperience.
Total current estimate: $2000 labor, $120 materials
Initial estimate: $420 labor, no materials cost
Details:
- Mount 55” LG OLED tv living room using a low profile mount with in wall cable concealment
- Mount 1 Sonos soundbar in living room using Sonos soundbar mount with in wall cable concealment
- Mount 43” TCL Roku in bedroom using full motion tv mount with in wall cable concealment
I already have the 2 mounts and the soundbar mount.
Current quote breakdown is $650 for the bedroom tv mounting + cable in wall concealment and $1350 for the living room mounting + cable in wall concealment. The tech said he would provide the “additional materials” needed and the estimated cost is of those is $120.
I found this tech through Thumbtack and he is with MMM Services - Bay Area.
The initial cost quoted was $420:
$44 for soundbar, $109 for each tv mounting and $79 for each in wall cable concealment.
Allegedly due to the age of my home and “complexity” of the wall materials the labor cost is higher than MMM originally estimated.
