Red mahogany foot stool
My mum has a little footstool built by my Great Grandfather in the 1920's, used by my Great Grandmother when bathing my grandfather and his siblings. We believe it is made of Australian Red Cedar.
It currently sits in front of her fireplace, and my kids enjoy sitting on it when we visit and the fire is going.
She mentioned during a recent visit what a great stool it was, so I decided to have a go at recreating it.
I made it using some 5x8 inch Red Mahogany timber beams, which used to be on a small 5 metre long bridge on the family farm, which was washed out in a flood almost two decades ago).
I made some tweaks along the way, so it is not a complete reproduction, but is still generally consistent.
Edit: Forgot to add - It is now with the original stool, in front of the fireplace on the farm.
