Dude is just... OK with everything. I genuinely think that if Blade hadn't gotten corrupted by Shuhu he would've been an absolutely smothering dad/uncle/what have you. As it is, he won't spoil the kids, but he'll damn well take care of their health and indulge in whatever they ask.
In the GBA games (which, to this day, still hold my favorite animations in the entire series) the Armor Knights had removable breastplates which also doubled as their shields, which you can see alongside the rest of the GBA games' beautiful animations here.
Was that a real thing? I can't find any info on that.
The Generals too had weirdly high tech weapons, they didn't thrust or stab with their spears so much as extend it with a chain.
