Is it just me or are there a lot of ladybugs out this time of the year. Like, they're everywhere!! I mean, I love them, they're so cute!! but I just find it strange that I've never seen so many around the same time in previous years.
Edit: Alright, got it. Not ladybugs and not cute 😭 I'm just glad I got lucky and none of them but me.
I switched to phys-chem joint after winter 26 and will be going into my 3rd year with this schedule. I love chem but physical Chem and Chem research just doesn't have enough math. Since I switched too late imo, i decided to go all in, which is not a problem since I had pretty much the same course load last fall and winter as well. Especially in winter when I took chem 3600 and 3620 with inorg 1 and org 2 and intro analytical lab, the lowest grade I got was a B (ochem 2). Now, since then there have been huge developments. I worked in a research group over the summer and the PhD student and the prof that I worked with said they'd be happy to have me keep working on the project in the school year. Also, I have a project in mind from another profs group to work on in the school year which is in discussions with that prof (might end up a paid position, hopefully) . If things work out, I want to work on both projects and I'm sure the department and both profs will be okay with it.
Now my question is, am I pushing myself too much with this schedule and working in 2 research groups and different projects? I've seen countless first year schedules over here and I always think that those are pretty chill schedules, but the comments are like, "you're cooked!!" I know this will be hard, but my social life is non existent which is why I think I can do this.
Chat, am I cooked?! Has anybody ever done this before? I've had Armes to Drake before but this is just nuts!
Does anybody know what happened? It's been out since 11 pm on Wednesday, the night of the storm and according to the map, the power should've been back at 10 am and 5 pm yesterday, but here we are.
Has anybody ever tried to prove the tensor nature of Riemann tensor by carrying out a brute force transformation of all the christoffel symbol terms instead of just conventional multilinearity in all arguments proof?
I really got interested in this and thought it'd be fun to see how a tensor made up of non tensorial components end up transforming as a tensor. After trying the full transformation myself and succeeding, I'm left with a boatload of indices and I'd like to check my math but I can't find anything of that sort on the internet.
I haven't formally taken either but the topics of those classes have really grown on me and would love to talk to someone about them who have taken either of those classes or at least have a working understanding.
I do love the finale that we got, but while rewatching after a long time, I couldn't help but think that this 2 episode crossover of bens could've made a great finale as well. My inner child was so happy seeing the little details from the OS in the "and then there was ben" episode. Would've been a full circle since vilgax was the antagonist. Ben prime saying "it's just a gadget" shows how far he's come. And the quote of paradox at the end of the episode — "so many different ways of telling a story, but that's what makes them so interesting. You can never predict how they're going to turn out" — was a cherry on top.
The coordinate differentials transform with a normal Jacobian — dx'^j/dx^i — which makes them contravariant. I don't get why they said it's covariant.
