Luma Ultra + SpaceWalker on iPhone Needs Priority. Premium XR Glasses, Missing Premium iPhone Support?

I bought the Luma Ultra because it was positioned as Viture’s flagship and most advanced XR glasses. Overall, I actually really like them. Paired with the INair Pod, the experience has been very good.

That said, I still want the ability to occasionally connect directly to my iPhone and use the SpaceWalker app. Right now, that experience feels unfinished.

The old adapter does not properly support the Luma Ultra, and from what I can tell we are still waiting on a new adapter solution. Until then, a lot of the core Luma Ultra features are basically unavailable on iPhone.

Considering this is the premium product in the lineup, it seems like full iPhone/SpaceWalker compatibility would be a top priority. Especially since portability and quick-connect use cases are a huge part of why many of us bought into the ecosystem.

Has anyone heard updates regarding the new adapter or timeline for full Luma Ultra support on iPhone? Curious what others are experiencing.

I’ve been testing the INAIR pod in a real workflow over the past few weeks and wanted to share some thoughts from a system design / construction perspective. My work is mostly residential AV, lighting control, acoustics, and integrated systems, so I’m constantly dealing with plan sets, coordination on-site, and quick iteration between design and field conditions.

First off — this form factor makes a lot of sense for what I do. A wearable display with multiple screens and voice input could realistically replace a laptop/iPad combo in the field if it’s done right. That’s why I’m spending time trying to make it work. Setup is INAIR Pod and Viture Luma Ultra

That said, there are a couple of pretty major blockers right now.

Software is the biggest issue (by far)

The hardware isn’t really the problem — it’s the lack of usable software in the Android / Play Store ecosystem.

I use Vectorworks for design, and there’s basically no functional path there. Vectorworks Nomad is technically available, but it’s not reliable enough to use in any real way.

Same issue with plan markup. There’s nothing close to Bluebeam Revu or any serious construction-grade PDF tool.

So in practice:

  • Opening large plan sets is hit or miss
  • Navigating between sheets is clunky
  • Markups/redlines aren’t really possible

At that point it becomes more of a viewer than a working tool, which doesn’t help much on a jobsite.

Markup / field coordination just isn’t there

This is probably the biggest gap for me.

If I can’t quickly mark up a plan, sketch a routing change, or redline something while talking to an electrician or GC, I’m back to using an iPad or printed plans.

That’s a core workflow piece that just isn’t covered right now.

 Voice input has been unreliable

I was actually really excited about using voice with AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude for specs, quick questions, and note capture.

In reality:

  • Mic cuts in and out
  • Voice recognition drops mid-use
  • No clear way to fix it or lock the mic input
  • Happens across both apps, so it doesn’t seem app-specific

If voice isn’t reliable, it kind of defeats the purpose of a wearable interface. I end up grabbing my phone anyway.

 Tried a few workarounds

  • Remote desktop into my main machine
  • Screen mirroring
  • Cloud viewers

They technically work, but between latency and input friction, it’s not something I’d rely on in the field.

Where I do think this is going

Even with the issues, I think this is actually a really strong use case for this type of hardware.

  • Not having to look down at a device constantly is huge
  • If multi-screen was fully dialed, it could replace a dual monitor setup
  • Voice + AI in the field makes a ton of sense
  • Could be great for client walkthroughs and system visualization

So I’m not down on it — I’m more trying to figure out what’s missing to make it viable.

Curious if anyone has solved any of this

A few questions for anyone else using this more seriously:

  • Any CAD viewers that actually work well in this environment?
  • Anyone gotten Vectorworks Nomad to run reliably?
  • Any decent PDF/markup tools I’m missing?
  • Has anyone stabilized the mic when using ChatGPT or Claude?
  • Any external mic setups that help?

Also curious if anyone in architecture / construction / engineering is actually using this in the field and what your setup looks like.

I’m genuinely hoping this gets there because it feels like the right direction — just not quite usable yet for real work.
