I recently got the Beasts because I travel a decent amount and thought for the plane, it would be great for watching movies and YT. Secondarily, I could use it for my laptop for having a larger screen on the go.

Too many issues to look past.

Skywalker app is mediocre at best and I want native app usage so I could download movies and TV shows when Im offline. Unfortunately, the YT app barely works with Beasts (multiple bugs, black screen) and then if you do manage to get that or other apps working, the iphone screen has to be on so adjusting settings or constantly tapping or resting a finger on the screen.

On top of that, the chromatic aberration is very noticeable around the outside of the screen and the screen constantly drifts unless you have it anchored.

The laptop use case is also pretty trash -- the fact that only the center of where you are looking is crisp and even then, text isn't THAT crisp makes this hard to be a productivity machine.

Im excited about the future of XR and AR glasses, but this ain't it.

I am just coming to this community because I was thinking about buying a pair of the Viture luma ultra and I wanted to know if I could take POV videos and if they would actually look good, just wondering if anyone would know :)

I know that a developer has made VertoXR, but at this point why did Viture include a non working RGB camera on the Beast if they weren't going to enable it with all the advance features that they said it was going to have. Is it that hard to enable it? Will it ever be? Who knows!..... At 5-600$ for the Beast they could have just added built in 3dof into the Pro2 if we are just paying for screen size, FOV, and a camera that's not working. Still hopeful though 🙂

Edit: And I just thought about it 🤔 you get a larger screen size and fov you have to get prescription lens that's an extra $100! You get the smaller screen size and fov in the Pro 2 or the Luma Ultra(You can catch the Luma on sale lower than the beast) they both come with diopters, make it make sense!

Starting a new commute soon: 2 hours each way by bus, 4 days a week. That's about 16 hours a week I'd like to spend watching movies instead of staring at my phone.

What I'm looking for:

Mainly movies

Comfortable for 1–2 hours at a stretch

Works well on a moving, bumpy bus. Does the screen stay stable, or is 3DoF/anchoring a must?

Decent battery situation. Do I need a neckband or a power bank pass-through?

Some privacy and awareness of my surroundings, since it's public transit

My setup: S23 ultra

(I own a Meta Quest 3 at home, which is obviously too bulky for the bus)

What cable do people recommend to use the Pro 2 with a PS5. I'm guessing I'll need an adapter that takes combines HDMI and power to the Pro 2. And a USBC extender, as the PS5 won't be that close to me.

It's been difficult to find recommendations. And I'd rather not spend $100 on the Viture Pro Mobile dock just to do HDMI conversion. It's shocking that Viture doesn't have an adapter you can buy from them directly.

Is that you don't have to charge it! I haven't used it in a while but it's nice knowing that I can just plug it in and it works. I have a pair of Meta Rayban glasses that never get used and it's mainly because they've been sitting dead in the closet somewhere and I don't feel like charging them.
