Hi everyone,
I’m on the 2 Gig plan in NJ and was consistently getting ~2.5 Gbps down / ~350 Mbps up before any work.
On May 1st I got the standard Xfinity text about “work to enhance the Xfinity network in my neighborhood” They were out doing work and I even found PPC TPP540QR .540 QR hardline connectors in the road (weird)
Internet was out for about a day after they "finished". When it came back, my upload is now capped at around 40 Mbps. Download is still the same, but upload is unusable for anything serious - 350mbps was the sweet spot for me. And I don't appreciate being downgraded
I’m using a UniFi Cable Internet (UCI) modem. Xfinity chat acknowledged the new mid-split work but is now pushing me to rent their gateway, saying some packages “can’t update” on my modem (Which is officially listed as supported by xfinity)
They just texted me that they’re doing more enhancement work in a couple of days.
Has anyone else had this exact issue after the neighborhood "upgrades"? Did your upload come back after the second round of work, or did you have to fight support for proper provisioning? Any success keeping a third-party modem like the UniFi UCI working with the new upstream?
Really don’t want to rent their gateway if I don’t have to. Espically when my network is all UniFi. Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks!
