Are they better than hairties or are they just the same in terms of damage? Are there even better alternatives? I have thick, wavy hair and like to keep it protected without braiding it. I usually just twist into a claw clip or put it under a 100% cotton bandanna during the day. (The latter leaves me with a lot of matting near my nape, but silk falls off if not pinned.)
