So I reported a fraudulent charge on my chime card back on April 17. After a lot of time of waiting and not seeing any updates on my case, I called to ask why I hadn’t been provided a provisional credit. I was told by the lady on the phone who was super nice that they can’t issue provisional credits on the credit builder card. I’m pretty frustrated as the person who hacked my card apparently did not hack my debit card. I have gotten a new card & numbers and locked them, but I’m afraid to keep my direct deposit in bank and also deposit cash into it. I usually keep my card locked so I’m not really sure how it happened, but someone went online and bought merchandise. It wasn’t a large amount. It was only like $150, but what happens if my credit card gets hacked again after my paycheck goes in and they take out $3000? It doesn’t make me feel very safe. Especially considering the fact that my virtual card was locked and that’s what they hacked. I still haven’t figured out how they did that. I provided this information to chime, and I’ve only had one other dispute that went in my favor. So apparently if someone hacks your credit card instead of your debit card, then you don’t get a provisional credit. Has anyone else faced this issue? I’m seriously afraid to put any of my money in the account. I just got a new job and I wanna put my direct deposit in chime because I do like them and I’ve never really had any issues, but I can’t afford to lose money. And then have them say that it’s gonna take up to 90 days. Just looking for advice.
