Joined consulting from industry, Staff2 and having hard time adjusting
Joined couple months and onboarded straight to the project after 3 days. I am never getting context to anything we are doing, everyone seems to be doing the work and careless to give me any pointers or understanding of whats going on.
I understand consulting is expected to learn content at very pace but there isn't much learning that I can do, everyone tells me to do stuff/get numbers with no clue to what they mean.
My manager hasn't been helpful and does not reply to me or some meetings that I set up to understand/learn things.
He just asks me to do things and gets mad when I can't follow along.
Last week he asked me to screenshare the latest xxx document. Went on a meeting with client and he got frustrated with me because xxx document wasn't the right one, right one was in a folder that I do not have access to.
A lot of my questions go practically ignored or found stupid by the team and this is a very technical project. I can feel frustration coming from client side as well.
I brought this up to the manager and he just thats how consulting is.
Everyone else in different teams of the practice seems to be enjoying their job and very open to teaching people and mentoring people.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation? Is this really how everyone's experience has been? What Can i do to navigate this situation?
