Love Languages

Sijui acts of service, gifts, words of affirmation, quality time, and physical touch yadayada. Btw, it's said that your love language is what you didn't get enough of as a kid. So if yours is physical touch it's because you weren't hugged enough as a child. If it's spending quality time, it's because you were neglected and abandoned as a child 💀.

Lakini kwa ground, money is a major love language.

And the only actually incontestable love language is consideration. Someone actually showing you that you are an important human deserving of love by how they treat you and talk to you.

However, if you are already dead inside from degrees of dust studies in the city of Nairobi, none of these shenanigans apply. You just cynically laugh when they are mentioned. Labda ulikuwa mrembo ungetaka physical touch, ukafinywafinywa ka avocado ukaachwa kwa soko. Labda wewe ni jamaa unapenda angalau acts of service moja mbili, ukapatana na gaidi from murima ikakuambia she's not your nyúkwa.

The greatest love language, then, is witnessing Arsenal winning the league after over two decades and taking joy in seeing the haters in pain. Nothing comes close!

Kenya has its really amazing aspects.

Kenya also has extremely verminous aspects that make one wonder if we're ever going to make it. One of our problems is who controls the soul of the nation.

There are these types of Kenyans we have:

  1. A few Kenyans have high standards and would want the nice things other countries have to happen here. They have high ambitions they wish the country could pursue. They get disturbed by national shitholism, mediocrity, and our low-trust nature.

  2. A few Kenyans just need the basics to be done well. Health. Education. Water. Etc.

  3. The political class love it the way it is because they benefit from the system.

  4. Many institutions have entirely no problem with thirdworldism. Explains why kanjo would take garbage off the drainages and deposit them on sidewalks and roads (as depicted in the image). The chasm in ambition, desired class, and vision between (1) and (4) is too big to bridge. One will have to rein over the other.

  5. Then there's the bigger part of the population. A mass of redundant protoplasm who just move with the waves. No agency. No ambition. Some are helpless, but most are downright stupid. They get born, grow up, breed, and continue the cycle. The only ideological “ism" their brains can muster is tribalism. They are not only the reason kasongo has a chance at a second term, but they also make systemic change impossible. Regardless of ethnicity, education level, socio-economic status, etc, most Kenyans fall here.

At this rate, it would take group (1) to act as the Talented Tenth to rescue this nation. Group (2) might help, but the rest are the problem.
