Galaxy Watch 8 44mm BT — only getting 16–17 hours with AOD on. Is this normal?
I recently bought a Galaxy Watch 8 Bluetooth 44mm and have been using it for about 4 days.
I really like the watch so far, but I'm concerned about the battery life.
With a 100% full charge and Always On Display (AOD) enabled, I'm getting only around 16–17 hours of battery backup before it needs to be charged again.
I understand that battery life depends on usage, settings, health tracking, notifications, etc., and that the watch may still be learning my usage pattern since it's only been 4 days.
But Samsung claims up to 30 hours with AOD enabled, so 16–17 hours seems quite low to me.
For other Galaxy Watch 8 44mm Bluetooth owners:
How many hours of battery life are you getting with AOD ON?
What settings do you use for AOD, heart-rate tracking, GPS, sleep tracking, etc.?
Did your battery life improve after the first week or two?
Should I wait for the watch to finish optimizing, or could this indicate a battery/device issue?
I don't want to turn AOD off because it's one of the main features I want to use.
Is 16–17 hours normal for the Watch 8 44mm BT with AOD, or should I contact Samsung/replacement support?
