Before the big update that addressed the matchmaking ranks and stuff, I was playing in Emissary/Archon lobbies with my friends who are around the same rank. Post update, I'm playing the same as I was (if not better) and can't seem to rank up. Also to the point, it seems as if I'm going against people I would've seen in Emissary lobbies but in Arcanist where my team is right where they belong. I'm not excellent by any means but I'm better than Arcanist. Any tips to get out of ELO hell?
