An inexhaustive and biased list of counter items for characters that I hate fighting, with no regard for how strong they actually are or aren't. Feel free to add your own. Also I don't know what most orange items do

  1. Viscous
    1. Cursed Relic: put it on anybody that Viscous has Cubed and they will get unCubed (including Viscous)
    2. Indom: fuck puddle punch
    3. Juggernaut: fuck puddle punch (and splatter)
    4. Enduring Speed: a cheaper option in lane for the slow in his splooge
  2. Pro and Skill
    1. NOT SLOWING HEX. STOP BUYING IT: the burrow IS NOT A MOVEMENT ABILITY because Yoshi loves his little piggie and slows don't touch it
    2. Counterspell: for the ult
    3. Debuff reducer: They're all about nerfing you as hard as they can before they diddle you, so make sure they have as small a window as possible
    4. Focus Lens: their fatass hitbox takes so much damage that the extra percentage that they take at the end of the duration can get you (and has gotten me, many times) a free kill
    5. Knockdown: Slap it on them while they're still at a distance so they can't close the gap the way they want
  3. Apollo
    1. Slowing Hex: annihilates his kit
    2. Silence Wave: see above
    3. Counterspell: he has one of the most telegraphed ults in the game, and most Apollos aren't smart enough to hold the ult to bait counterspells
    4. Healbane: actually not bad with his new changes. Maybe not worth buying just for Apollo if it's not already in your build, but if there's also an Abrams or Victor on his team it's a good buy
  4. Paige
    1. A brain and a set of WASD keys: STAY OUT OF THE DRAGONFIRE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
    2. Indom: For spike and rally charge stun
    3. Maj Leap, Phantom Strike, or any mobility: Paige doesn't have any, so if you can jump her, she melts
  5. Celeste
    1. Knockdown: No zooming around the map for you
    2. Counterspell: If I can counterspell her daggers consistently, any idiot can
    3. Debuff reducer: For the debuffs on her 1 and 2
    4. Indom/Enduring Speed/Juggernaut: So you can run from the ult
    5. Veil Walker, or any other invisibility: The animation on her ult is really telegraphed, so if you see it coming, run through a veil so she can't hit you
    6. Maj Leap or Warp Stone: Same idea as above. As soon as she tries to cast her ult, move fast and in an unexpected direction so she whiffs it more often than she hits it
  6. Doorman
    1. Counterspell: for the cart
    2. Indom: for the cart and Baroness
    3. Silence wave: For the cart
    4. Dispel Magic: For all the nasty debuffs you get if he nails you with a bell, or if you get CCed going into the Baroness
  7. Ibrahaim
    1. The goddamn parry key
    2. Vertical distance: Makes shoulder charge useless. He doesn't have any in his base kit, so you'll force him to spend money/an item slot if he wants to keep up with you
    3. Healbane: obviously
    4. Spirit Burn: obviously
    5. Decay: Delicious percentage damage
    6. Capacitor: will turn off that fucking siphon, this + literally any other antiheal or resist shred will turn him into tissue paper
  8. Mina
    1. Suppressor: Or literally any fire rate debuffs to make it harder to proc her passive
    2. Walls and a pair of eyes: If you didn't know (and if my lobbies are any indication, a lot of you don't) when you first take damage from Mina, there will be a progress bar on the side of your screen labeled "love bites". She fills that bar by shooting you, and when it fills up you take a fuckton of damage and make Mina's ult stronger. This can be avoided by monitoring the progress bar while you're fighting Mina and running behind cover when the bar is almost full, and waiting until it disappears
    3. Slowing Hex: Turns off her bats
    4. Knockdown: for the ult
  9. Drifter
    1. Pressing Tab: Most Dronglers will play him as a gun carry (and these reccs are with that in mind) but they do build spirit sometimes. Make sure you know what the player you're fighting is doing before spending a bunch of money
    2. Disarming Hex: No gun no damage
    3. Rusted Barrel: a cheaper option for lane
    4. Metal Skin: Because fuck you for playing this stupidass character
    5. Cursed Relic: Turn off his entire kit
    6. Dispel Magic: Might need a fact check on this one, but I think it will turn off his tp if he nails you with it
  10. Mirage
  11. Dispel Magic: Get rid of scarabs and his passive
  12. Slowing Hex: Turn off his sand tornado thing
  13. Enduring Speed/Juggernaut: for the slow on the sand tornado
  14. Kelvin
  15. Healbane: not for Kelvin specifically, but takes a chunk of value away from his 1 and 4
  16. Knockdown: Will knock him off his ice path and turn off his beam
  17. Enduring Speed/Juggernaut: for the slows
  18. Playing Dynamo: not a counter item, but I need to put out the PSA that Dynamo can pull teammates out of Kelvin's dome with his tp if they're close enough to the wall

Deadlock advances tips lmao

CAREFUL! This one's "9 likes on tiktok" Certified ‼️‼️‼️ anyways, instead of "more gristle for the mill", I always wanna say "more meat for the gristle" but i don't think you're supposed to put your meat in that, so there's that.

(Street Brawl) No CC should have 75% or more uptime

Faced enhanced disarming hex 3x in a row on infernus where they only used it on me. Across the 3 games it had 75% uptime in every fight I had. This has to be the most unfun thing in the game. With enhanced heal beam at least you still play the game. IMO any of these enhanced cc items need to swap whats enhanced (duration vs cd) and/(or if really needed) a massive nerf to the “enhanced” buff. Really been enjoying brawl, but I just have 1/4-5 games that is just miserable. Does the rest of the community feel the same way? Is this mode just abandoned at this point?
Edited to show numbers to illustrate the point: Enhanced disarming hex has an 8 second cd with 4.25 seconds uptime. With Trans cd that becomes 6 second cd, then literally any ability duration puts it over the 75% mark. It can have over 100% uptime, which imo, on its face, should be impossible for any cc.

Does it get better?

I suck dick ass balls and pussy at this game and none in the good way I mean the first 2 games I played I went 0-13 in a standard match then 3-7 finally I went 7-6 in street brawl is there certain characters that are more beginner friendly because Dynamo seems to be the one I’m best at so far or is it a more like just feel your way out

Anyone else think the mainsub has been infested with casual players who get mad at anything competative

Any post that isnt a meme gets mass downvoted on their or any post that is telling people how to improve or a character is op

And its for reasons that make it clear they are casual players

Unhinged theories

Okay I fucking love this game. The highs are so incredibly high and the lows are so incredibly low but I absolutely adore what the devs have cooking and I desperately need more story. I just like to imagine how the story might unfold as time goes on and I've got a handful of unhinged theories.

  1. The adversary is a sea urchin and the deep is doomed regardless of whether viscous wins or loses. To start this viscous is a sentient sea anemone who relies on coral to anchor himself to the ocean floor and the adversary is an unknown oceanic leviathan that threatens the entirety of the deep. I believe the urchin is devouring the deep coral and threatens to clear the ocean of all organic matter making the deep inhospitable. This is a two parter. There's an unreleased character who is described as a forgotten god of the deep who had a track record of violence and conquest who if they get their wish would damn the surface and the deep to ruin.

  2. Every wish has a consequence. I'll only give a few examples but I truly believe especially considering the geist visual novel that no one will truly be satisfied with their wish. Firstly we can look at geist who wishes to return oathkeeper to the tome which is a bandaid fix at best as the oathkeeper will simply birth himself back into existence and judging by dialogue with the drifter he's a petty individual who will kill geist in the end. Abrams doesn't even get a satisfying wish. Infernus will save the bar but will relapse on the violence and likely lose hank because of his actions during the ritual. Warden can't stop the patrons because no patron would grant a wish to not be summoned. Holliday might stop the troubadour but she can't stop more violent entities from victimizing countless. Drifter will never be satisfied, seven will find godhood as boring as the doorman does because ambition as its' limits, Vyper will never not be who she is and no clean slate will stop her from back sliding into a failure, Apollo will forever be his father's shadow, pocket has to be the person they hate just to win over (as in defeat) their father. Etc

  3. Oathkeeper gets a wish. Geist owes her power to him. The only reason she can even perform in the ritual is due to the oathkeeper. The patrons are shown to be unbiased entirely to those on their side who can say they don't give him a talking to about how he can finally break free if he helps geist which is lended more credence when geist doesn't wish for his destruction but rather his removal meaning his wish was freedom so he can exact revenge and hers was to be given an out from her obligation.

  4. The drifter was a civilized vampire at one point. Less unhinged and more confirmed but the man on the fire place painting is clearly the drifter. Same wrist tattoos and red hand motif. We know Simon (the current viscount) is curious at all times about the drifters whereabouts and would likely know he's there and I'm betting they have a history

  5. Dynamo is evil. Doesn't care one bit about the nightmarish horrors his best friend is committing with his company. Doesn't care that his godchild pocket was shot by that same person even still calling them kinda friends still EVEN THOUGH HE KNOWS POCKET GOT BLASTED BY THEIR FATHER. so obsessed with knowledge he sacrificed his body just to be first on the scene, publishes deep dives into astral gates giving aspiring monsters a treasure of tricks to slaughter innocent's. Seven even told Dynamo that if he never published those books he would've never strived for apotheosis. Dynamo is a man who thinks the ends justify the means. Willing to summon an Eldritch God so he can hug his wife not caring at all what that means for the world.

  6. Victor was made by Shelly's husband before he died. There's a theory Shelly made him but I think it was her husband and it has to do with the line Victor says about his creator wishing for a son he could never have which is the exact same line describing the reason Shelly made bebop. Two people who couldn't have kids finding two different ways to make it happen but Shelly's husband died before he got the chance to finish victor leaving a body with no soul ready to be piloted by whatever poor sap got stuck in there and bebop being given a soul and a metal body. Bebop even relates to him (not in a literal sense)

I was practicing defying goo-vity and i found a game breaking bug

I hope this doesn't get rid of the cool beam tech. From my very little testing it is in this specific spot on the map and "nowhere else." I'm not sure how to post on the forums if someone would like to on my behalf

Some people should really learn what a MOBA is and to prioritize.

Some players play like this is another hero shooter. If you feed your lane‘s Drifter everybody is going to have a bad time.

Also rift isn’t worth contesting if the other team has rejuv or we could push a walker / shrine while the other team is distracted.

Also why the hell do you keep farming / dying solo when there is a teamfight happening at mid?

Throwing a game because 2 players are caught off guard an green by the fed Drifter does not help the team at all, even if you got a Rift which is cleared in like 10 seconds lategame by almost every hero.

Anyone Else's Build Pages Just The Entire Item Catalog But Organized?

By organized I mean labels such as, "take this when sucking ass in lane early", "take this when getting shit on in jungles", my anti-heals are just, "anti-victor"

I'm still just learning the game and characters and currently on the night shift having to watch my cat and a foster to see if they can get along, so I'm re-vamping my build pages and I just love how much customization there is with something as simple as builds

I'm loving putting little reminders like the examples above

I love even just simply organizing all the disarms and silences, same as both spirit resist and bullet resist, as well as anti-spirit resist and anti-bullet resist

I'm unironically loving this and all I'm doing is organizing my builds LMAO

What a gem of a game, can't wait to put these builds to use and get shit on immediately and question absolutely every decision about my builds again
