In my mediocre 600 hours of playing this game, I haven’t had that many friendly encounters with other players. Mostly I play with my friends and my girlfriend on official servers, and we tend to not really make friends very often.

I only have 1 or 2 actual memorable encounters, but they never lasted long.

I once met this guy as freshies in Berezino, we manage to not slaughter each other. We run to the nearby Druzhba and manage to team up with another guy. Us three run for a few hours together, until we get ambushed outside of Arsenovo. I see my two new friends get killed and I survive alone.

I love the concept of friendly encounters in DayZ, and I wish I could have more of them.

Do you have any stories you would want to share?

There are servers with 0 people, there are servers with 60+10 people.

I prefer official servers with 20-40 players, it gives me the most amount of breathing room and encounters feel more personal, while not being completely dead everywhere.

I know a lot of people play these super high pop servers, but to me they just feel like meat grinders, too little survival.

Also, a huge portion of the game plays on really low pop servers (below 5 players per server) so it seems like there is a demand for this as well.

What do you think is the most fun? and why?
