I’ve tried to convince my buddy to play DayZ with me. When he asked what’s this game is about I said: “it’s great! You fight zombies and other players. You can die of: thirst, hunger, cold, salmonella, wound infection, bleeding, food poisoning, cholera, getting sniped, getting blasted at point blank with a shotgun, falling from height, drown in a little puddle, get shot by a teammate (happened several times), get shot by a freshie hunter, kuru, pneumonia and many more!”
He didn’t like it…

My characters were constantly getting sick over and over and for a long time I couldn’t figure out why. Turns out it was hygiene. The male characters get sick if they don’t stay clean shaven. Pro tip - use a pristine knife if you can.

I know people will say make a stash in the woods etc however I enjoy the base building aspect of the game gives me something to work towards along side hunting and exploring. How could you realistically make a base relatively defensible you’ll never make a base 100% raid proof it’s not going to happen.

However Imagine you are the raider what kind of things could you come up across which would frustrate you to give up the raid or find the time not worth it with equipment used to get in.

More than 3 locked gates with four dials, fences all metal and barb wired up or majority at least.

Multiple traps around and in the base causing headache.

More of a well travelled area so concern of others hearing the raid and getting attacked from behind.

Gates spread across multiple buildings in a village so which actually has the loot or waste of time.

Remote base with multiple gatesand having to travel back and forth if not enough grenades or ammo to get in first time

Just some ideas interested what you guys think?

To the fellas in Vybor (Official/PS5)... my wife stumbled upon your little base while running from a small horde... she heard you talking... and quickly exited fighting through infected, trying to escape... and you shot her in the back (not very well, mind you) and killed her. She came back fresh, met up with me and our son... and now we have all your stuff.

We likely would have not even cared about your lame 2-gate base if you'd have let her flee, but since you showed no mercy, neither did we.

Yesterday me and a buddy tried to play some dayz and we got a bios error (error 0x00050017 and occasionally 0x00050018) we figured that the servers were just down and played something else for the night.

Today we get on and see that we are getting the same bios errors. After troubleshooting for an hour, we finally managed to see the servers, until they vanished again. I got so pissed I fully unistalled​ the game.

When I decide to try and play it again, is there anyway to fix this issue? The only other posts about something like this are from like 4 years ago.

What is your favorite loot rout on Livonia?

I personally like to start in Kolembrody and make my way down through the military and then head straight to Borek, Lembork, Wrzeszgz, shooting range than to Nadbor and that's where I usually end up dying.

Sometimes this ain't fun anymore. I was on Livonia (Server 2005, PS5) , standing on the roof of the big Topolin police station. Then I spotted three players. I could've easily killed them as they ran through the streets. I aimed from behind at them, as they were running away from my position. But I decided otherwise. I started a road flare and shot in the air with my shotgun. They turned around. Spotted me. I stood there and greeted them. First nothing happened, then they went into hiding. I just waited. Maybe they wait until the inflected are gone? Maybe they're just cautious? I stood there, greeting, waiting.

Then I died

So created my first proper base organised the crates in categories got a tarp shelter built and barrel found. I was pretty happy with it log back in after a night shift and my two 4 dial locks are changed and this new room mate has no organisation in the stash.

I’ve tried getting out through brute force but i don’t have the time to guess the lock so lately i’ve just been logging in taking the gear he’s been finding like the famas with a full mag, ssg with ghille cover, eating his food and drinks then dumping everything on the floor to hopefully despawn it all. Basically became his own little poltergeist and hopefully he gets sick of it and leaves.

Any tips of how else to try re-claim my base? I’d of preferred just for everything to be destroyed in a raid tbh than this😅
