I used to sell dice from about 2021-2023, and got massively burned out with the capitalism of it all. I moved my whole setup to CA when I left TX, and decided to try making dice again - not to sell, but just as gifts for people. One thing leads to another, and I'm staring down a list of people I've promised dice to, and I feel terrible, but I've fully lost the burst of motivation that I had. Past me wrote a lot of checks that present me doesn't have the brain space to cash.
I don't want to let people down. How do you motivate yourself to cast on days where it's the last thing you want to do? I have executive function issues anyway, and now a good dose of guilt on top of it. Any advice is helpful, TIA!
Hello all! I've been a veterinary assistant for 10 years, and moved from TX to CA last year. I've been in small animal GP for nearly my entire career, and at an ultrasound referral clinic under a DACVR DVM for the past 6 months. It's interesting work, and I've learned a lot, but I'm starting to get the itch to go back to GP.
I have an interview lined up for next week at the nearby clinic I take my cats to, and if they can offer me more money/hour + discounted pet care, I'm inclined to take it. I got out of GP to begin with due to some burnout, hospital toxicity, and a very long (1 hour one way) commute. I'm trying to introspect and feel out whether I'd just be right back where I was re: burnout in GP, or whether I should stay where I am in referral land. The clinic I work for currently is a very small staff (3 people total including the DVM), so it's an interesting dynamic. The clinic I have an interview with is brand new, privately owned, and just opened last August.
Any insights would be helpful! TIA!
Does anyone have any experience working for Roo, but on the actual company/corporate side? If so, I would love to hear your insight! TIA!
I had to release my horses to an ASPCA rescue program in North Texas around 2018, and I wonder where they ended up, and if they're doing well. They were middle aged geldings who had some health and behavioral things going on, and my parents were moving 4+ hours away to a property with no land. I was a broke fresh out of college kid at the time, and I couldn't afford to board them anywhere either. Jack (black/white) and George (orange/white). I miss those goobers 💜
Hello! 33F getting back into riding after my last ride when I was in my early 20s. My horse at the time was really hot and loved to rush/bolt off with me (in hindsight, wayyyy too much horse for me). The lesson horse I'm riding now in a group setting seems fairly forward/responsive without being too much, and his brakes are *okay enough.* 😂 I know my instructor won't let me come to grief, but any tips for getting over anxiety around being able to sit a lope confidently? Western riding 💜
My mom (who is not ARMY and is only kind of vaguely aware of their existence because of me) got me this awesome tumbler based on the colors/suits BTS wore during the IDOL MV!!! It's so cool that she found such a specific gift and didn't just grab something generic 😁💜 My mom and I have our differences sometimes, but I love her so much 💜
My very sweet roommate (who is not involved with BTS at all) got me the Dynamite Tiny Tan pins and a Koya pop socket for my Kindle for my birthday! 💜
