Do you think CSM ending has ruined the perception of a MC struggling.

Do you think CSM ending has ruined the perception of a MC struggling.

I remember people used to be more positive and be okay with MC struggling and even fun hearted jokes being made with the expectation that the payoff would be great and worth it. Since CSM ended, it feels like the opposite now, people hate when the MC is portrayed as struggling with no joy because they expect the MC to not have a good end. Many in dandadan fandom constantly use the fact that tatsu was an assistant of fujimoto to compare dandadan to CSM and ends up complaining when okarun is losing or suffering. I feel like this wasn't the case before.

On the flip side however, this arc is also one where okarun suffered the most.

Does anyone feel a bit sad seeing similar reactions from community.

It is possibly due to me being chronically online but I've only recently read through dandadan and i usually see past threads of old chapters whenever i finish a chapter i like to see people's reaction.

I've seen a lot of fans that were very positive of momo and ken as characters but i've recently seen the same users shitting on the very core of this series. I don't mean people hating the current arc or amnesiac momo or the direction of the current story as i don't like this arc myself but what i mean is them suddenly going to hating ken or momo from the past arc and suddenly having a 180 opinion on this series, hating the very core aspect of the manga and what not when these same users were being positive about the same thing before.

It feels like dandadan is dragging now, it is just so random for the sake of it

I can't exactly articulate my thoughts and feelings but i don't enjoy dandadan as much anymore. I know you're gonna say its because i only focus on the romance but that's not it. All of these recent fight scenes look cool and epic but i don't enjoy it. It feels too random.

New villains are coming in and they feel random too. They don't have characterization and it feels like stalling for the sake of it because we know almost nothing about the CSG or much about the factions either or how many there are either. Villains just keep popping in randomly.

Tatsu keeps escalating all of these fights but still giving very little information about the overarching plot especially with the antagonist' side and its effecting the enjoyability of the story. I don't feel like there is a reason to care for these fights.

The characters are not driving the story forward anymore and they are only reacting. They feel passive.

The main plotline is paused and put on hold and the fights feels too distant from it and not related. It feels like padding for the sake of it. It isn't fun. There is no structure and its all over the place. It is so random.

Dandadan used to be random before with the villains but it feels different then it is now. Before, it felt like despite being random, there was a means to an end.

The art is still really good and the visual of the fights are great but i find myself to not care about it much.

Feels like tatsu moved dandadan to a more traditional shounen plot which is fine but he isn't doing it right or in an entertaining way.

What are your thoughts ?

Doing rereads again, i have a question

In chapter 82, the kur managed to steal okarun's kintama again even when already reattached to him and it still has its supernatural properties enough for the kur to power the warp gate. Does this mean, that currently, something like that is possible, is his kintama not normal now. Am i missing something ? Or did everything become normal when he gave away his powers ?

Will this ever be addressed

It is a weird action from okarun, considering she had amnesia and i feel like the manga just brushed past it. No one in the fandom really called him out for it too.

I've been seeing this opinion a lot from trolls in folk subreddit but how true and valid is it ?

Okarun entire character arc apparently being revolved solely around momo

What is the point of this subreddit

Among folk subreddits, it is the most dead subreddit in general. It used to get a lot active during the drama chapters but from what i've heard, before the drama chapters, this subreddit was apparently very quiet. The main subreddit is where a lot of discussions happen.

It genuinely feels like there was no need for a folk subreddit for dandadan.

So are there any news on when the next chapter comes out ?

Someone said that in Sj+ which is the official japanese site, that the next chapter comes out in next week but manga plus says it comes out in another 2 weeks. Do we have any idea which is true yet ?

This subreddit has become very quiet since chapter 237, was this subreddit always like this before the controversial chapter 230 ?

Does this subreddit only thrives when things are negative. I found out this subreddit when during chapter 230ish but i noticed since chapter 237 when the turning point happened, its gone quiet despite things becoming positive and the lore expanding more. Usually that would mean people would theorize and talk about stuff more but its the opposite here. Negativity surrounding the romance and agenda seems to make this subreddit more active and it becomes quiet when things are turning well again. Was this subreddit always like this prior to the drama.

Hot take: Tatsu should had gone with his original idea since he isn't really great at writing romance beyond the initial part.

Tatsu is only good with writing romance in the beginning stage, he doesn't really know how to write a long running romance series and he is kind of a one trick pony rehashing the same romance plot beats. It would be fine if this was a shorter series but why did he decided to make it a romcom when he knows this is going to be a longer series and he is pretty bad at it.

The thing is tatsu is really creative and good when it comes to the battle shonen aspect. He is creative with his arts and the design of villains, even has a good choreography. Making dandadan a romcom might had been a bad idea in the long run.

"That said, I have this tendency to end up liking the more unpleasant characters, so part of me is thinking, “Make Okarun suffer more,”

Well, the doubters ended up being right. This explains everything.
