Dandadan Daizukan Series - Pt 7 - Kouki, Miko, Kei, Hase, Tsubame, Anzu, and Ririna
I'm back with another batch of Daizukan info! This time for a bunch of the students and friends of the main cast + Kouki!
Part 2 - Aira & Jiji (+ Jiji White Knight Theory)
Part 6 - Queen (+ Black Paladins theory)
I have found that there is a lot of valuable lore & character information hidden in the Daizukan and it seems to be pretty underutilized by this community. I figured I would start a series to contribute in a positive way by sharing translations and possibly jump starting some good discussions.
I want to note that I went through this page-by-page with Claude to help translate and then used my own understanding of Japanese and the manga to spot-check. There will probably be a few sections with weird phrasing, translation errors, etc. especially when talking about terms that don't exist outside the manga. I.E. take things with a grain of salt.
Also note that this Daizukan came out early August of 2025, so spoilers or any direct references past that point would have been avoided (although foreshadowing, etc. was surely on the table).
Please note: I will not be sharing scans of whole pages, so do not ask. If you like the contents, you should buy the Daizukan yourself and support the author.

Miko
A fair-skinned gyaru with big-sister energy
A classmate who always hangs out with Momo and Kei. Her trademark is her hair tied up on the top of her head. After hearing about how Okarun got into a fight with some guys for Momo's sake, she evaluated him as a "good guy." She occasionally shows her older-sister side by chiding Momo.
With sharp thinking and bold imagination, she uncovers the truth behind the bizarre phenomenon of Momo, Okarun, and Aira appearing naked! ...Except she's completely wrong!

Kei
A friendly, dark-skinned gyaru
Just like Miiko, she is Momo's close friend and classmate. She's a kuro-gyaru (dark-skinned gyaru) with flashy makeup, but maybe she got tired of it, because lately she's been a bit more subdued...? Perhaps because she's worried her beloved Momo will be taken away, she often directs a sense of rivalry toward Okarun.
While she rivals Okarun, she also shows signs of supporting his relationship with Momo. When Jiji transferred in, she provided backup fire by refusing to recognize him as Momo's boyfriend because Okarun is around!

Around Momo and Okarun are various other unique students! They spend their youth in their own ways—getting hyped up over their friends' romances, struggling with classroom social circles, or trying to sponge off an ex-girlfriend.
Yukishiro Kouki
A girl with a faint presence, forced to attack Momo
A girl in Year 1, Class E - plain, with an unnoticeable impression. When miniaturized Momo was exploring the library, Koki chased Momo around calling out to her as if urging her to submit. A certain person had her weakness in their grip, and she was acting on their orders...!? Afterward, she's discovered by Aira and the others, and the "little old men" (小さいおじさん) fight back with their power to protect her!!
Long bangs hide her true face
Her long, grown-out black hair looks as though she is trying to avoid the eyes of others. Her face is completely hidden. Because of her gloomy appearance, her classmates reportedly whisper behind her back, calling her a "ghost."
Rigid uniform with a below-the-knee skirt
Compared to Momo and Aira, her skirt is considerably long. Her black stockings further reinforce her plain appearance. This is likely an expression of Koki's desire "not to be noticed."

As a child, Koki drew attention as a prodigy pianist. Now, however, that position belongs to her younger sister. Longing to be praised by someone, she posts photos of herself in her underwear on social media, but...
Purpose
Targeting Momo to steal her powers
Blackmailed over her social media posts, Koki pursues Momo in order to steal her abilities. The small knife she held at the time is thought to be a medium capable of absorbing abilities once the opponent is subjugated and harmed, identical to the one held by the Count of Saint-Germain. Furthermore, the Little Men gathered around Koki to save her when she was cornered!
Power
Commanding the Little Men (?)
She directs a massive army of miniature people, invisible to normal humans, to perform attacks and defense. Whether this is Koki's own ability or the autonomous actions of the Little Men themselves remains a mystery...?
The Little Men work as one to carry the unconscious Koki away so she can escape. If they were entities born strictly from Koki's ability, they should disappear when their master loses consciousness, but...

Things of Note / My Thoughts
Not a whole lot of major lore in these, but I found them fun!
The note about Kei being jealous of Okarun early but that warming up to him was cute. Also her dislike being silence is great.
I wonder if Miko's deduction capabilities are about to come in handy with Zuma to help uncover mystery of the stolen powers!
Tsubame and Anzu liking sweet and spicy foods respectively is funny. Also nice call out to Jiji (Evil Eye) getting them back together with Aira.
I got the impression there is a lot of modern Japanese slang in this section. Like コスパ・タイパ is apparently a combo of two buzzwords:
- コスパ (Kosupa): Short for コストパフォーマンス (Cost Performance). This is the equivalent of "value for money" or "bang for your buck." If something has bad kospa, it means it is overpriced for what you get, or requires too much financial investment for a low reward.
- タイパ (Taipa): Short for タイムパフォーマンス (Time Performance). This is a much newer term that entered the Japanese language heavily in the 2020s. It means "time efficiency" or "bang for your time" (like watching movies or Netflix on 1.5x or 2x speed).
The note implying Kouki's "Little Men" not necessarily being tied to her powers might have some interesting implications. Perhaps she'll still have access to them even after losing her "Lord of the Flies" power.

Theory for tomorrows chapter
I feel like tomorrow’s chapter will start off with Unji, Miko and Kei and end off with us seeing Vamola and Kinta. It kinda seems like Tatsu is giving us just a lil break before we get into the heavy action and is going over characters who have been missing for awhile (like red baron and Unji in the last chapter) so it would make sense for us to see them, or maybe find out what happened to Manjiro but I feel like we won’t see that happen until Seiko returns or the gang leave the carnival area.

Okarun’s powers and closeness with Momo.
Not sure if this has been pointed out, but I believe that I’ve found another portion of the current arc that mirrors the first arc of the series. As I’m sure everyone knows, this arc is heavily reminiscent of the first few chapters of the series, almost as if we were seeing their story for the first time again.
A new factor that I’ve noticed is that we’re finally back to a point in the series where Momo and okarun are inseparable from one another in a fight.
Before, momo’s presence was required to keep turbo granny in check so that Okarun could use his powers to their fullest without going insane. This way, they were forced to work in tandem to form an absolute powerhouse. When this aspect disappeared after the turbo granny arc, I was highly disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed the dynamic of Momo and Okarun being 2 parts of a whole in a fight, mirroring their relationship.
Now, in the current arc, we have come full circle, where both Okarun and Momo are both dependent on each other to use their powers properly. This time however, they’re required to be on physical contact with each other instead of Momo being able to stay at a distance while controlling okarun’s powers.
This is mostly just an observation, but I do believe it’s meant to symbolize how close they are, despite momo’s temporary amnesia.

Headless Dribblers powers
With many plotpoints coming back like the Bull guy or ms. Adachi, i was wondering if Tatsu will end up using the power that Adachi stole from the gym teacher.
I mean, at some point Adachi will probably talk to the gang about her working with the orchestrator in the tiny momo arc, and she might mention the power that she stole from murakami, which Aira will recognize.
I wonder if the headless dribblers knife will be used on one of our allies?, will some enemy steal it?, or if it wont be used at all.

Miko and Muko/Kei
People are theorizing these two best girls will be pulled into empty space at some point.
I wanted to share my favorite panel of the Daizukan -- which has all the characters as Final Fantasy classes. (Tatsu, you get me)
Miko is a white mage/wizard. Her skill is random recovery and her ability is: perceiving the truth (weak, e.g. can't perceive all items like Sanjome)
Kei/Muko is a black mage/wizard. Her ability is random magic. Her ability is: to have no chill immune to silence
These abilities and skills are seriously amazing, hilarious, and critically, seem to be independent of yokai abilities.
TLDR; these two lovable chaos gremlins are indeed chaos support crew. It will be neat to see if they get abilities in empty space if it enhances their already wonderful role in the comic or are new.

weird decisions
In the kozuka knives arc we first learned about the existeance of the id cosmos and while its still mysterious we lerned that the holders of it dont fear death and that momo has it. In order to break momo's will red decided to attack the people around momo. Makes sense except for some reason he decided to not tell kouki that information when she was the only person that was sent after momo.
It is weird but maybe tatsu just havent come up with the concept of the id cosmos yet or he just wanted to keep it a secret until the reveal. I can give him that but the second case it is even weirder.
We just learned in 238 that okarun also has the id cosmos and the knights planned to capture momo and jiji to use as hostages except again gilles derais didnt seem to know about that. They must have known ken had the id cosmos going in because it cant be that they just learned it and recruited hase against ken specifically at the same time but gill and blage instead of trying to go for aira too they just blocked her from helping ken and that pretty much it. They even tried to torture ken when they should have known that wouldnt have worked
this s a very weird but what do you guys think about? Could i have passed over some crucial detail that explains it? let me know

Theory for momos power
In the beginning of the manga momo is able to hold back the curse from okarun to keep turbo granny from taking over. Momo could also hold back the curse enough for okarun to what would become his turbo granny form. So I think it’s possible that
momo could cancel out other people’s yokai powers using her abilities.
