I used manus as an autonomous art director to build a 45-min interactive punk film, HTML-to-MP4
What I built-
CMASS: NON SERVIAM – A Punk Experience. I turned my band's 2021 album “Non Serviam” into a 45-minute visual film. It included 9 tracks all introduced by 9 iconic voices to make 1 film using 140+ archival band photos cut into a cinematic HyperFrames doc and then rendered out as a full 1920x1080 MP4 from HTML.
The Problem-
I had the album and 100+ raw photos, but zero pipeline. I needed:
• a locked punk-zine art bible that wouldn’t drift into glossy AI slop.
• a way to organize 140+ photos into 9 track-specific montages.
• GSAP typographic bursts and photo pans timed to the music.
• a real render path from a complex HTML composition to a final 45-min video, without hand-exporting frames.
How Manus helped-
I let Manus run the whole art department:
Art Direction: Locked a strict system: high-contrast B&W photography, distressed monospace, cyan/white type, etc. It actually stuck to it across all 9 tracks.
Asset wrangling: Auto-sorted 140+ photos into 9 track folders and injected them straight into the DOM.
HyperFrames engineering: Built the full index.html skeleton, mapped all the GSAP timelines for pans/text entrances, and prepped the npx hyperframes render command for the 1080p MP4 export.
Scripting / Audio: Wrote 9 distinct narrator scripts in the style of 9 iconic punk voices, including Track 05 “City of Angels” in an Exene Cervenka / X style. Managed the mix strategy, putting the VO at -6dB sitting under the swelling tracks.
Promo: Generated the “PERSONA UNKNOWN” 9-grid promo flyer, with the “BUILT WITH MANUS AI / COMING SOON” lockup, Spotify / Apple Music / YouTube ready.
What was our 2021 record is now a unified 45-min punk film, built and directed entirely with Manus. Happy to share more if anyone is interested in it.
