I come from a family of Police officers, parents are also officers. I attend a high school and am only 16 years old, never bullied and was taught a lot about to use the law in situations instead of getting myself into altercations that could damage my reputation for future opportunities, I plan to be a police officer myself in the future.
Well we have this guy at school who likes to bully people, he picks on them and says pretty harsh things to them and sometimes pushes them, not going to get to much into it but he is your typical useless high school bully I guess you can call it (and lets throw in the fact that his buddies follow him around and spread rumours about you), so wow ever so fun!
I was out on my lunch break from class and this dude grabs my bag from behind (I guess I crossed him when waking) yanks it off me and just throws all my stuff in the ground saying some useless bottom of the barrel crap. So I went home and talked it over with my family and I was told it was actually assault what this person did to me or at least some laws were broken, but I needed evidence if I wanted to prove this.
The next day I come to school this time with my phone in my hand ready, I decide to walk passed him (minding my own business not making any contact with me) once again he grabs the back of my bag and yanks it off me. I pull out my phone and start recording and tell him to give me back my bag as its my property and theft of my things, he gets mad starts yelling and tries to swat the camera off me, manages to hit my arm in the process back away as he aggressively tries to grab it. He takes off after saying many bad comments to me and throwing all my stuff out the bag again (which is all on camera). I take pictures of my red arm as well.
I go to the other hallway and call 911 before class starts and explain I have been a victim of assault and attempt theft. In class police show up and ask both of us to come out of the class room, long story short, our parents are called and I show police the evidence (my arm and video as well) he is placed in handcuffs for theft and assault and taken away.
Now a lot of people saw this stuff and news gets around, well no one is talking to me anymore, but not bullied either so its peaceful now for me, I had a teacher tell me after class “you should of went to the school system ti handle this” I am thinking to myself why would I go to the school system thats in charge if education, this man broke the law, so I got law enforcement involved, the police and my parents agreed I did the right thing.
Edit : He broke the law, doesn’t that mean he should processed ? That is what our legal system is there for and to protect and serve.
Edit 2: im being told im wrong but how come the cops are all on my side saying it needed to be done
