It might just apply to your 4 block radius, but would love to learn of some more small businesses to support that have that feeling of community in the neighborhood they’re in, where everyone goes, says hi in passing, knows the owner/cooks in passing, hangs out, and has really good food. Or maybe not where you go to hang, but has indisputable history and is considered a community staple. Either, or, or both.

Mine was El Santo when I lived in Bushwick - cash only, amazing food and music by the owner who is a hobby (? Maybe more than hobby he’s so good) DJ. Patio seating where everyone chatted and people watched that I loved.
