Junior in college and I plan on upgrading from my windows pc this summer.

I looked into the M4 mac air and i think its a good fit for me, but i dont want to jump to any conclusions as this will be the first time I use a non windows computer.

I do frequent coding and a little bit of gaming here and there so I think the M4 mac air can handle these tasks fairly well. However, I have talked to some friends who have said getting something like a M2 or M3 pro might be better since its cheaper and I get the luxuries of a pro.

This has sort of stalled my decision so I just wanted to get some more advice on the M4 and whether or not I should maybe look at a cheaper option such as a M2 or M3 pro.
