I Hade no Idea the DualSense was capable of this.

Since Saros was developed by a first-party studio, I had a feeling they were going to show off the DualSense features — but maybe I was just naïve, because I didn’t realize just how powerful this controller could feel in-game.

Can we talk about the haptic feedback when you walk past the laser beams? Or that deep, heavy vibration every time Primary speaks? It gives him this incredible sense of power and authority, and honestly, I think a huge part of that comes from the DualSense implementation. Even something as simple as holding L2 halfway to access your weapons and secondary fire adds so much to the experience, and there is so much more.

It takes an already cinematic game and pushes the immersion to another level. Huge hats off to you, Housemarque!

I want to start by saying I love this game. It’s honestly incredible what Pearl Abyss has pulled off here—it really feels like something that’s pushing the boundaries of the industry. This isn’t criticism of the core gameplay at all. If anything, I respect Pearl Abyss for how consistently they try to improve things and actually listen to their players.

There are moments where I just stop and stare because of how good everything looks. For a couple of weeks, the game was running really well on my Pro. But after the last few updates, I’ve noticed performance slipping—frame rates feel worse, shadow textures seem downgraded, and the texture pop-in has become a lot more noticeable. There are even times where I’m standing still and watching the environment visibly shift around me, which really breaks immersion.

That’s the frustrating part, because I love Crimson Desert so much and I want to experience it at its full potential for the first time. I want to get completely lost in it. And honestly, I have no doubt Pearl Abyss will get it there with how hard they work.

I know I could tweak settings to improve things, but I think I’d rather wait until it’s more polished. I did the same thing with Cyberpunk 2077, and I’m really glad I did. It’s a bit of a bummer because Crimson Desert is incredibly addictive—but for me, waiting feels like the right move.
