Hey all, I recently went from a 22 pro to a 25 flash and assumed the tow technology package had a trailer brake controller, obviously it does not, which my 22 did in that same package. From what I can tell, the max tow package still has an integrated trailer brake controller, so one would think it is possible to add. However, it apparently is not possible for ford to add the integrated one. Is there a specific reason for this that anyone is aware? Another thing I have noticed, and I could be delusional here, but my 22 in tow mode completely disabled the ability for 1p driving, however my 25 flash can now do this. Did ford make this change because of the controller delete and data showed the regen braking was better and potentially as safe?
I’ve seen the forums and folks can add the oem integrated controller and use forscan to program. But, I also see a bunch of posts about error messages that pop up every time they drive or their camera doesn’t work, or the pro trailer assist breaks, so I am not really interested in that route. I’m curious what folks are using today? Are you all using 1p and calling it a day? Any after market recommendations that don’t kill regen efficiency?
