It only used 3% battery to power 2 refrigerators, 1 freezer, and misc small devices for 9 hours during a power outage.

Big storm. Lost power. Ran 3 cords inside to power our two fridges and a freezer (one 12g cord per appliance) and another cord for some lamps, phone chargers, etc.

I powered everything for 9 hours and my battery only went from 77% to 74%. Pretty cool!

If I only had a way to power the AC.

2026 F-150 guys, how are you keeping mud from becoming permanent decor?

Looking at a 2026 Ford F-150 for work and family duty, and I’m already thinking about the boring stuff because my last truck’s carpet got wrecked by boots, gravel, and coffee. For floor mats in a Ford F150 2026, what should I be checking before I care about looks? Pedal clearance, door-side lip height, rear row coverage, cold-weather stiffness, or how well they stay put when you climb in with muddy boots? I’m not trying to baby the truck, but I’d rather not make the interior miserable to clean by month three. Truck owners, what did you learn after the newness wore off?

This unit's starting up is tripping my ford onboard power, can I use a slow start?

We are currently in a power outage. I have a Ford F-150 lightning. The lightning is currently plugged into my home's generator plug. Everything works fine but then when the AC kicks on it trips the lightnings onboard power. I've read that you can get a slow start that uses less amperage over more time. But I'm not sure if it would work with this unit. Does anyone have any advice?

How’s everyone’s DCFC speeds this sumner?

OAT 95°-105° and watching my kW degrade to 80kW.

Is this everyone else’s experience?

Thanks!

How much does trailer aerodynamics affect towing efficiency?

I towed my trailer and another very aerodynamic one on the exact same route and compared how many mi/kWh I got with each.

How to select the charging station for public charging?

I know this is probably a super stupid question. It used to be that we could go into the public charging app on the infotainment system, find chargers, and activate stations. But then they updated it to show only a QR code which forces you to use the phone app to locate chargers.

When I find the charging station I’m at, it has a drop down for me to select the specific charger I’m at, and I can select the corresponding radio button. But then there’s no button or anything for me to hit enter or submit to actually start the charger.

The place I usually go to will auto start but when I’m at one of these other places, I end up just saying “fuck it” and tapping my credit card to start charging.

Am I missing something in how to use this app to initiate charging?

First time using Pro Power for the whole house

Happy 4th of July! 92 mph winds hit us in NE OK yesterday evening. We got a great lighting show to go along with the fireworks.

This is the first time I've used the GenerLink with my truck, but I've used it with my gas generator a few times prior. I installed it a few years ago, my electric panel is completely full with no room for a typical interlock. Still no power after 14 hours and no ETA on restoration. There are tons of trees down on lines so it's probably going to be awhile.

My house is full electric and I was able to keep everything except AC going all night on 8% of the battery. Unfortunately the Lightning doesn't have enough juice to start up my geothermal system, my 7.2 kW gas generator surges to 9.6 kW and was able to get it going, but seems that Pro Power has a hard cutoff at 7.2 kW. I'll have to look into installing a soft start.

Home Generator

Hi all - I saw a post on here recently but now can’t find it, showing a transformer that can send power back to your house from the Lightning in a power cut. Can anyone guide me on this?

Adaptive Cruise Control keeps yelling at me about putting my hands on the steering wheel when I'm already holding it?

Can someone share insight into how the truck detects if the steering wheel has hands on it or not?

I don't grip the wheel like I'm trying to choke the life out of it, but I hold on sufficiently that I can immediately take steering control. I've had carpal tunnel ops on both wrists so a super tight grip hurts and can't be maintained for hours.

Husband says take it to the dealer but I think it's not a fault - it's just how I drive.
Can I adjust the sensitivity?

Got my “Built Ford Tough” keychain

Direct from the ford.com accessories section delivered … and lo and behold the key ring portion itself is maybe not so tough?

Do you what this latch is for?

Hi I recently got my first truck, and it came with these latches.. does anybody know what they are for?

the seller said they’re to tie down ropes etc.

AI thinks it’s for a tonneau cover or use to hold some other accessory in place

Any advice would be great! I would want to put the latch to its proper use

Random navigation voice driving me crazy

Randomly, the truck give me navigation directions. I’ve never even used the ford navigation app. I only use Google Maps with car play. But I have the voice set to mute on Google Maps.

Anyone else have this problem??

For the perspective buyers, sharing the scraper I used to watch the market while I was shopping.

Just picked up my Lariat ER and wanted to share something that helped me find it.

Spent a few months watching the market and got tired of refreshing CarGurus every morning. So I put together a Python script that does it automatically -- searches Cars.com, CarGurus, AutoTrader, CarMax, Edmunds, and Carvana every day and spits out a single HTML report I can open in any browser.

Fair warning: I'm not a developer. This was almost entirely vibe coded and dialed in over a few weeks. It works, but there are rough edges.

What it actually does: searches all those sources for used 2023-2024 Lariat listings nationwide, tries to confirm whether each truck is ER or SR using the VIN, filters out Pro/XLT/Flash trims, deduplicates so the same truck from three different sites only shows up once, tracks every price drop over time, and scores each listing against the live market median. You can also set a target color (requires a small tweek to the code) and it flags those separately.

I would often have Claude read the results with me and help me build my top five targets based on what I was seeing as well as price changes.

Known gaps worth being upfront about: AutoTrader blocks it sometimes and it just skips that day. CarGurus occasionally shows wrong specs for the battery type. Some trims slip through when a listing title doesn't include the trim name. I've been fixing things as I run into them.

If you're actively shopping and want to try it: https://github.com/mattbrubakr/f150-lightning-scanner

README has setup instructions. You need Python and about 10 minutes. Main things to change are your zip code and target color. The state file it builds up over time is where the real value is -- once it's been running a few weeks you can see the full price history on any listing. - If you're like me, have AI read it over and tell you how to get going with it.

Good luck out there.

Canadian In Florida, potentially stranded …

2023 XLT SR

In Florida for a vacation, stop safely fault popped up and got back to my resort and it said would not turn on.

Need some guidance on next steps. I’m going to wait 30 mins and try again. Any odds this is a 12v battery issue?

AI says most likely a HVB cell failure. Very anxious and nervous on what can be done, parts availability, warranties etc since I’m a Canadian in the states.

Any help or guidance is appreciated. Really bummed out

Did a thing... truck stuff? 3d print stuff? You tell me.

They came out great. 90 grams and 4.5hrs of White PetG and 2 - 3 coats of blue marker. Don't expect them to last long in this heat haha we'll see.

Used this model
