Specs:

Stock lariat 20 inch Lightning wheels, powder coated black.

Switched to stock Lightning Pro OEM wheels, powder coated bronze.

Weight savings: 41lbs vs 31lbs each wheel/corner

Tires: Michelin Defender LTX MS2s. Original were 275/60R20, new ones 275/65R18. They weigh the same, 40.8lbs

Efficiency: to be determined but already on a couple of short trips, the tires and wheels spool up much faster and give better seat of the pants acceleration. Less unsprung mass. Efficiency is also improved, but I'll have some hard data soon but even on short trips it was between 2.7-3.5.

Discussion: I like switching wheels on the truck, it's a good way to keep it looking fresh. I wanted some high-quality 18 inch aerodynamic wheels, but had little luck finding any.

It turns out the ones that Ford already makes are the best. They weigh the same as other options and the only ones that are significantly lighter are forged wheels that have a terrible aerodynamic profile. At highway speeds which I do often, that would kill efficiency.

Considering these wheels were made for the smaller battery pack, they are already maximized for dynamic efficiency. Plus you know they can handle the weight of the truck so it makes perfect sense. However machined and black are ugly so the powdercoat bronze really brings out the details of the gorgeous OEM wheel.

New to me 24 lariat and I have a leak! Thankfully only 20k miles so should be good on bumper to bumper. Anyone else have this happen?

This fking truck is awesome! We were in the Blowing Rock area this weekend. Horrible weather but we already had the trip planned.

Hands down the best vehicle I've driven in the Carolina mountains. Handles fantastic for a truck on the mountain turns, handles the elevation changes like a champ, and is simply a joy to drive versus other trucks and SUVs especially.

And well, "YOU AIN'T NEVER PUT GAS BACK IN A TRUCK BY DRIVING IT!"

Husband just got his 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash in Anti-Matter Blue in July, and I got my 2027 Honda Odyssey Elite in Smoke Blue Pearl at the end of September. No shortage of comfort, seats, cargo space, and towing capacity in this house.

Picked up a new truck for my son. Lightning is my new work horse. Left the f350 at home. The gas prices makes a difference. No worries with the lightning. Charging is getting better.

So I’m casually strolling around Sam’s Club and noticed this. It’s only 700 W but it’s also only $35 😂

I bought my 2023 lightning XLT last year (July 2025) and I’ve loved it. However I was wanting the lariat features, and after my rear motor implosion i posted about a longer period on warranty. Also I somehow had 13k in equity on my 2023 (with 26k additional miles l it was a heavy travel year) after only a year of payments. So I traded up for 2024 Lariat with 10k miles total (and managed the same payment).

Only downside is I no longer have the antimatter blue.

Our community showed Hocus Pocus, so we put an air mattress in the bed of the Lightning and loaded it up with blankets and pillows. Pretty great way to kick off October.
