Tudor Ranger shopping for my 50th and pleasantly surprised by....

In the process of window shopping for my 50th next year, as you can imagine I've been exhaustingly searching and romanticizing over which watch I should buy. My list has become pretty short, it's basically down to the 36mm dune Ranger, the older Speedmaster racing 40mm from chrono24, BB 54 Lagoon blue and the Longines Zulu Spirit 39mm gold crown. With Longines recent price jump of $900 on the gold crown Zulu Spirit (now $6800 CAD) this has been pretty much eliminated. I have a decent collection currently, Longines Hydroconquest, vintage late 40's omega, 1977 grand quartz Seiko, a bronze baltic aquaschaphe that gets the majority of my wrist time a few others, but what I really want is a watch that I grab 6 days of the week, I feel like I've settled on the dune Ranger.

Where I live doesn't have any Tudor AD's so on a work trip to Vancouver today I made some time to stop by an AD and try a few watches on. They don't currently have the dune but I did manage to try on the 36mm Ranger in black and it has pretty much sold me on the dune as my watch, the fit is absolutely perfect on my 6.75 wrist and the dune colour fits my aesthetic perfectly, I'm sold. I really want an everyday watch, I loved the Ranger. This AD was wonderful, they took my name down and told me they will call me when the next one arrives and if the timing isn't right they will call me when the next one arrives ( I turn 50 in March 2027 so not in a massive rush) so that seemed really promising, this watch is pretty impossible to find in Canada right now.

What my long ramble about my 50th watch is really about however is what completely blew my mind, and that is the new blue BB 54, my god is this watch nice in person. I'll be the first to admit I was in the camp of "mall watch" blue when this first dropped and I've seen comments about people seeing it in person and falling in love with it, well you can add me to the list. I took a picture but again it simply won't do justice, this watch is stunning in person.....congrats to those that have purchased it, and looking forward to my first Tudor....soon. End ramble, cheers.
