BB54 vs Pelagos vs Neo vintage sub

I am currently looking to add a second watch to my collection. I’m trying to keep my watch purchases sentimental and without too much overlap. Pictured in the last slide is my GMT Root beer which is lovely, but I don’t trust it in the water so traveling with it is a no go, and I live in an incredibly hot climate so the lack of on the fly microadjust is a bummer.

I am fairly torn—my wrist is too small for anything above 40mm (6.5”). I am currently considering the Pelagos 39 and the BB54. Also in consideration is a 14060M submariner because the neo-vintage sizing works well for me.

My hold ups are:
- I’m not in love with the Pelagos bezel insert. I like watches that age with time, and ceramic doesn’t. Stories of Lume falling out also make me weary, but it wears like an absolute dream and has all the features I would want.
- BB54 looks amazing, feels amazing, but it feels like it is cosplaying as a vintage watch.
- 14060M Submariner (not pictured). Lacks the modern clasp, so I would have to go aftermarket for that which is fine, and is 2x the price of the Pelagos.

This will be my first watch purchase in about 7 years and it will be fairly meaningful (wedding) so I want to get it right. Any thoughts or experiences would help.

Johnny Knoxville Wearing a Tudor…

I noticed Johnny Knoxville wearing a Tudor in the most recent Jackass movie and saw him wearing that same Tudor in this movie which suggests to me that it’s his personal time piece. Pretty cool seeing him choosing to wear one.

Pelagos 39

Fits just right or too small? Pelagos 39 on a 7.5 inch wrist.

Considering trading Omega SMP for Tudor BB58 GMT

I've had the newer Omega SMP for a few years now that I added a Railmaster bracelet to, and while I love it overall, I do find it a big too big and too modern. The ceramic bezel and dial are great for durability, but at the same time they don't ever get that age or patina. I'd like to eventually pass it down to my kids and have it show some history.

The Rolex 6542 is my favorite watch ever, and the BB58 GMT is pretty close in dimensions and aesthetics to it. But I absolutely HATE the snowflake hands, and I don't see myself ever liking them. I've done some watch work and I'd probably swap them out for the more vintage Mercedes GMT hands.

Should I just stick with the SMP or switch to a Tudor? A Rolex isn't in my wheelhouse (plus I don't like the AD/gray market shenanigans) and I only would want one dedicated daily driver.

18 months of hunting a small, gray dialed watch with no date and this is what I come up with

Date code on the bracelet is 71, movement is ETA, case and bracelet both have crowns. Basically the best of all possible worlds.

Got my first Tudor for my 30th.

30 years around the sun. I reflected a lot back on the last decade and how it shaped me. I had good and bad days, learned some hard lessons, and was humbled a lot. But I also had the joy of bringing new life into this world, landing an amazing job, and saving a couple furry critters along the way. One thing my 20’s taught me is how valuable time is and that it can teach, heal, and is irreplaceable. I’m grateful for everything life has taught me in the past decade and I’ll always strive to be a better man than I was the day before. I worked towards a Tudor to showcase the meaning of time to me and to one day share many stories this watch has formed with me.

my first ever tudor 🥹

just a bit of backstory: my dad had to get a tudor to secure his datejust allocation, so he gave me the choice to choose which tudor i wanted. initially i wanted the panda chrono on the 5 link but we would have to wait, so the next option was the boutique edition and looking at it in person there is no regret choosing this over the panda
but my goodness what a watch man. i will cherish this with the rest of my other watches for eternity🥹

BB 41

Went into my AD to try on the 41 mono as I am interested in adding it to my collection. My wrist can definitely take the 41mm but I think it’s wearing a little too chunky for my liking. I currently own a 58 (last pic) which proportions wise, nails it and whilst I love the monochrome design and 5-link, I just think the thickness is letting it down. what’s everyone’s thoughts on the BB’s thickness?

Went In for Blue, left with Burgundy

Finally added a Tudor Black Bay 58 to the collection. I walked into the AD fully expecting to leave with the Blue. Like a lot of people, I'd spent months looking at photos, reviews, and videos and was convinced that was the one. Then I tried on the Burgundy. The gilt accents, the warmth of the bezel, and the overall vintage feel just clicked in a way the Blue didn't. It felt a little more unique and had a lot more personality on the wrist than I was expecting. It's a good reminder that no amount of online research can replace seeing a watch in person. Went in for the Blue. Left with the Burgundy. Absolutely no regrets.

Tudor Bumblebee Availability

Hello redditors, I’ve been looking for the new Black Bay 39mm Chrono Bumblebee at retail. Do you know of any countries where finding one at retail is relatively easy?
