Hello, all. Currently, I did my coding mostly using GPT 5.4 and 5.5 from Codex and GitHub copilot. Due to recent pricing change on those platform I’m looking for alternatives.

I’m wondering, how is your experience working on SWE 1.6? Specially comparing to sonnet 4.6 and GPT 5.4 and codex 5.3.

One of the main thing I worry about using a new agent is most of the time it gets the work done but it creates lots of code smell which significantly bloats the engineering effort. One of the main reason I’m particularly interested about SWE 1.6 is because cognition boast it to be an engineering focused coding agent.

Please share your experience if you have used it.
