Wake window vs set schedule
My daughter is 11 months and wakes up between 8-8:30 every day.
About 2 months ago I managed to get her into the rhythm of a morning nap at 10:30 no matter what time she woke up. This worked well for a 9 month old who’s wake windows were 2.5 ish hours.
However, we’re still doing that now even though her first wake window could easily be 3 hours.
So currently her schedule is this:
8 am wake up
10:30 - 11:30 nap (she never fights it)
15:00 - 16:15 nap (sometimes trickier)
8pm bedtime
So wake windows being: 2.5/3.5/3.75
It’s currently working for us, apart from she is normally unsettled at the start of the night, but sleeps through often. She has also started rolling onto her front and not being able to roll back though, which I think is the actual source of the unsettledness.
I wondered if this is going to bite me somehow and what others would do?
I know wake windows are important, but that set schedule approach is really working right now and will be especially good when she starts nursery soon.
Wondered what other people’s thoughts are.
