Hey guys! I’m new here!
So next weekend is Mother’s Day in Australia and it’s my first Mother’s Day as I will have a 3 week old baby. My mother in law wanted to come over this weekend but we were busy! (She expects us to change our plans.) but because she didn’t come over this weekend she has asked for priority on Mother’s Day! MY FIRST MOTHER’S DAY! We said we are happy to catch up but we have brunch with my mum and sister like we do every mother’s day since my husband and I have been together. She was fine with meeting in the arvo and my husband asked to keep it short as I would like to spend some time with my son and husband. She then said I expect this to be the same with my sister and mum her meaning we only spend a small amount of time with them! I get she wants to see her son on Mother’s Day but it’s like she thinks he’s still a kid. She has always had an issue when we put our foot down and say no and now it’s getting worse.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation? and if so, how did you deal with it!?
