System Arabic Font
Hello Google Pixel Team,
I’d like to share feedback regarding Arabic font rendering on Pixel devices.
In 2026, it feels disappointing that the default Arabic system font on Pixel still looks outdated compared to other platforms. Android already has access to high-quality Arabic typefaces through Google Fonts, so it would be great to see more attention given to selecting a modern, well-designed Arabic system font for Pixel.
Currently, the Arabic UI does not feel as refined or pleasant to read as it could be, especially when compared to iOS, which has a much more polished Arabic typography experience. This really affects the overall feel of the system for Arabic-speaking users.
It would be great if Google could either:
Improve the default Arabic system font on Pixel using a more modern Google Font, or
Allow users to customize system fonts more freely, including Arabic-specific font choices.
Arabic is a major language globally, and better typography would make a significant difference in the user experience.
